Position Summary
The Procurement Specialist is responsible for developing and maintaining competitive supplier pricing for all purchased materials used in manufacturing. This position manages supplier relationships, obtains vendor quotations, negotiates pricing and lead times, evaluates sourcing opportunities, and maintains accurate cost information to support quoting, purchasing, and overall profitability.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· Solicit and maintain current vendor quotations for raw materials, connectors, wire, cable, hardware, packaging, etc.
· Negotiate pricing, lead times, minimum order quantities, and commercial terms with suppliers.
· Develop and maintain relationships with existing and prospective suppliers.
· Identify alternate sources to reduce risk and improve supply continuity.
· Evaluate supplier performance regarding quality, delivery, responsiveness, and cost competitiveness.
· Maintain accurate vendor pricing and purchasing data within the ERP system.
· Partner with Sales and Engineering to provide accurate material costs for customer quotations.
· Analyze cost trends and recommend sourcing strategies to improve profitability.
· Support annual cost reduction initiatives and supplier negotiations.
· Coordinate supplier qualification activities with Quality and Engineering.
· Review market conditions that may affect material pricing or availability.
· Maintain approved supplier documentation and vendor records.
· Assist with supplier audits and supplier performance reviews.
· Support Purchasing by resolving pricing discrepancies and updating supplier information.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Computer Skills

Education & Experience
· High school diploma required.
· Associate or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field preferred.
· 3–5 years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience in manufacturing.
· Experience negotiating with suppliers and managing vendor relationships.
· Experience within cable manufacturing, electronics manufacturing, or industrial manufacturing is highly desirable.
Reports To: VP of Sales and Operations
Language Skills:Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general requests for product, pricing, or service. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public in a professional manner.
Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, units of measure and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
Computer Skills:
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Internet; Inventory & Purchasing software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
