Quantitative Analyst Jobs in Florida: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a quantitative analyst in Florida?
Most quantitative analyst roles in Florida require at least a bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, financial engineering, or a closely related discipline, with many employers preferring a master's or PhD for research-intensive positions. Florida does not issue a state license specifically for quantitative analysts, but roles in securities or investment management may require FINRA registrations obtained through your employer. Building a portfolio of model work and earning credentials like the CFA or FRM strengthens your candidacy considerably in Florida's competitive financial services market.
How much do quantitative analysts make in Florida?
Quantitative analysts in Florida earn a median of about $61,660 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $46,010 for the lowest 10% to over $115,920 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire quantitative analysts in Florida?
Employers hiring quantitative analysts in Florida right now include NextEra Energy, Core One, and Verition Group, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Florida's concentration of hedge funds in Miami and regional bank and insurance headquarters in Tampa and Jacksonville means demand for quantitative talent is spread across multiple financial subsectors.
Which Florida cities have the most quantitative analyst jobs?
Juno Beach, Miami, and Tampa account for the greatest number of quantitative analyst openings in Florida. Miami drives the largest share due to its dense cluster of hedge funds, private equity firms, and international financial institutions, while Tampa's regional bank and insurance sector and Jacksonville's financial services back-office operations generate steady demand outside the southeast corridor.
How can I get hired as a quantitative analyst in Florida with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is through a quantitative internship or rotational analyst program at one of Florida's larger financial institutions, such as Raymond James, Fidelity, or a Miami-based asset manager. Many candidates transition from adjacent roles like data analyst, actuarial analyst, or financial risk associate, where modeling and statistical work overlap directly. A strong academic portfolio of quantitative projects, progress toward a CFA or FRM designation, and proficiency in Python or R will give you a clear edge over other entry-level applicants in Florida's competitive market.
Where can I find and apply to quantitative analyst jobs in Florida?
You can find and apply to quantitative analyst jobs in Florida on Migrate Mate, which lists current Florida openings across financial services, insurance, and related industries. Find the roles that fit your background and apply directly through the listings.
