Mid Level Radiation Therapy Technologist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level radiation therapy technologist job?
Highlight your independent patient care experience, your ability to operate and troubleshoot radiation therapy equipment, and any cross-training across treatment modalities like IMRT or SBRT. Employers at this level want to see that you take ownership of a full patient caseload, communicate clearly with oncology teams, and can step in when procedures do not go as planned. A current RTT certification and a clean compliance record are expected.
Which companies hire mid level radiation therapy technologists?
Companies hiring mid level radiation therapy technologists right now include Optum, Erlanger, and MaineHealth, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. At this level, hiring is driven primarily by hospital systems, cancer treatment centers, and outpatient radiation oncology clinics that need technologists who can run a treatment room with minimal supervision.
Are there remote mid level radiation therapy technologist jobs?
Yes, though the role is largely hands-on and clinic-based. About 0% of mid level radiation therapy technologist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to be in dosimetry review, quality assurance, or treatment planning support rather than direct patient treatment. Most openings still require full on-site presence in a clinical setting.
How do I move up to a mid level radiation therapy technologist role?
Moving into a mid level role is built on consistent clinical experience, expanding your modality range beyond the basics, and demonstrating that you can manage a treatment schedule without close supervision. Earning specialty certifications, such as those in CT or dosimetry, and taking on informal mentorship of newer staff signals readiness for the next level of responsibility.
