Responsibilities
The Department of Radiology is seeking a radiologist with a strong interest in abdominal imaging and a particular passion for diagnostic and interventional ultrasound. This position is ideally suited for individuals who view ultrasound as a dynamic, evolving modality—whether through advanced clinical practice, image-guided procedures, innovation, or academic investigation. Clinical responsibilities will include interpretation of inpatient and outpatient diagnostic ultrasound examinations, with opportunities for additional clinical practice in abdominal CT and MR imaging based on the candidate’s training and interests.
We welcome applicants from several complementary backgrounds, including radiologists with advanced expertise in diagnostic ultrasound who are interested in advancing the field through new techniques, clinical innovation, or scholarship; alternatively considered are proceduralists skilled in ultrasound- and CT-guided interventions such as solid organ biopsy and fluid drainage; finally, we also welcome abdominal imagers who incorporate ultrasound into a broader CT/MR-based practice and wish to further develop procedural or subspecialty ultrasound expertise. Experience with ultrasound-guided interventions is desirable, and interest in CT-guided procedures would be complementary but not required.
As a modality-based division, the Division of Ultrasound collaborates closely with anatomically aligned radiology divisions, allowing for a practice that is both deeply focused and clinically integrated. This role offers flexibility to participate in additional areas of radiology—including abdominal imaging, vascular ultrasound, and musculoskeletal ultrasound—while maintaining a strong clinical emphasis on ultrasound. Candidates will join a highly collaborative environment that includes radiologists, physicists, scientists, and referring clinicians committed to advancing patient care through innovation, research, and education.
The ideal candidate will have strong clinical skills, a commitment to excellence in patient care, sincere interest in clinical research and innovation, and enthusiasm for resident education.
