Regional General Manager Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional general manager in New Hampshire?
Most regional general managers in New Hampshire reach the role by progressing through general manager or operations director positions within a single company over several years. New Hampshire does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers consistently favor candidates with a bachelor's degree in business or management and demonstrated multi-unit leadership. Experience with New Hampshire-based industries such as healthcare networks, regional retail chains, or manufacturing operations gives candidates a meaningful edge.
How much do regional general managers make in New Hampshire?
Regional general managers in New Hampshire earn a median of about $124,680 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,100 for the lowest 10% to over $264,270 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional general managers in New Hampshire?
Employers hiring regional general managers in New Hampshire right now include BAE Systems USA, Sodexo, and White Cap, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's concentration of regional headquarters, healthcare systems, and multi-location retail and hospitality groups makes it an active market for this level of leadership.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most regional general manager jobs?
Manchester, Concord, and Hudson have the most regional general manager openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Nashua anchor the majority of listings because they host the state's largest concentration of corporate offices, healthcare systems, and multi-location retailers, while Portsmouth draws openings through its hospitality, financial services, and defense contractor presence along the Seacoast.
Are there remote regional general manager jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, but they're rare. Regional general manager work is inherently hands-on, requiring regular site visits and in-person leadership across multiple locations. About 69% of regional general manager openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those tend to involve administrative oversight or planning functions rather than day-to-day site management.
How can I get hired as a regional general manager in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is moving into a single-unit general manager role first, then building a record of operational and financial results before stepping into a regional scope. Large New Hampshire employers like Hannaford Bros. and Dartmouth Health run management development programs that pipeline high-performing store or department managers into broader regional roles. Lateral moves from operations coordinator, district supervisor, or senior department manager positions at multi-location New Hampshire employers are common entry points, and a business degree or an MBA accelerates the timeline.
