Product Development Manager Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a product development manager in New Hampshire?
Most product development manager roles in New Hampshire require a bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or a technical discipline, combined with several years of hands-on product development experience. New Hampshire does not issue a state license for this role, but hiring in the state's defense and medical device sectors often favors candidates with project management credentials such as PMP or certifications relevant to regulated product development, which signal readiness for compliance-heavy environments common among New Hampshire employers.
Which companies hire product development managers in New Hampshire?
Companies currently hiring product development managers in New Hampshire include Amphenol, SIG SAUER, and Fidelity Investments, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's concentration of defense contractors and precision manufacturing firms means many of these employers seek managers with experience overseeing technically complex, regulated product lines.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most product development manager jobs?
The cities with the most product development manager openings in New Hampshire are Nashua, Merrimack, and Newington. Manchester and Nashua anchor the bulk of opportunities because of their established base of defense, electronics, and advanced manufacturing companies, while the Portsmouth and Seacoast corridor draws openings from shipbuilding-related suppliers and technology firms that have expanded along the I-95 corridor.
How can I get hired as a product development manager in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into product development management from an adjacent role such as project engineer, manufacturing engineer, or product specialist at a New Hampshire employer. Large manufacturers and defense contractors in Manchester and Nashua regularly post associate project manager or product engineer roles that build the experience required for a management step. Earning a PMP credential or completing a lean manufacturing certification strengthens a candidate's case for promotion or lateral entry, and institutions like Southern New Hampshire University offer relevant continuing education programs.
