Entry Level Registered Dental Assistant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level registered dental assistant job?
Start by completing your RDA certification and any state-required coursework, then highlight your dental assisting externship hours prominently on your resume. Employers hiring at this level prioritize candidates who can demonstrate chairside skills, infection control knowledge, and familiarity with dental software like Eaglesoft or Dentrix. A letter of recommendation from a clinical supervisor or supervising dentist gives entry level applicants a meaningful edge.
Which companies hire entry level registered dental assistants?
Companies hiring entry level registered dental assistants right now include West Coast Dental Services, Penobscot Community Health Care, and Clinica Family Health & Wellness, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Private dental practices, multi-location dental service organizations, and community health clinics are among the most active employers at this experience level.
Are there remote entry level registered dental assistant jobs?
Yes, though most registered dental assistant roles are chair-side and require an in-person presence. About 0% of entry level registered dental assistant openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those positions typically involve dental insurance coordination, patient scheduling, or administrative support rather than clinical assisting duties.
Are these new grad registered dental assistant jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior registered dental assistant roles. A new grad friendly posting typically welcomes candidates with zero to two years of experience, accepts externship or internship hours in place of paid work history, and does not require prior employment as a credentialed assistant. Look for postings that mention training provided or willingness to mentor new graduates.
Which industries hire the most entry level registered dental assistants?
Entry Level registered dental assistant roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Technology & Software, and Non-Profit & Social Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive the most hiring at this level because they operate high patient volumes, run multiple operatories, and routinely bring on early-career assistants to build their clinical teams from the ground up.
