Registered Dental Assistant Jobs in Pennsylvania: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a registered dental assistant in Pennsylvania?
Becoming a registered dental assistant in Pennsylvania requires registration through the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry. Candidates must complete an accredited dental assisting program, pass the Radiation Health and Safety Exam to perform radiographic procedures, and hold current CPR certification. The Board reviews applications and issues registration before you may legally practice expanded functions, such as taking impressions or placing sealants, under dentist supervision in Pennsylvania.
Which companies hire registered dental assistants in Pennsylvania?
Pennsylvania registered dental assistant roles are posted by PERFECT SMILE DENTAL, Premier Dentist Partners, and Mor Smiles and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Pennsylvania's mix of large academic dental centers, regional health systems, and multi-location private practice chains creates consistent demand across a broad range of employer types and practice settings.
Which Pennsylvania cities have the most registered dental assistant jobs?
Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, and Paoli have the most registered dental assistant openings in Pennsylvania right now. Philadelphia's size and density of health systems and specialty dental groups drive the largest share of postings, while Pittsburgh's academic medical presence and Allentown's growing suburban corridor support strong hiring in both independent practices and regional dental service organizations.
Are there remote registered dental assistant jobs in Pennsylvania?
Yes, but they're rare. Registered dental assistant work is hands-on and chair-side by nature, so the vast majority of roles require full-time on-site presence. About 0% of registered dental assistant openings tied to Pennsylvania are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those positions tend to involve administrative dental coordination or insurance verification rather than clinical assisting duties.
How can I get hired as a registered dental assistant in Pennsylvania with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing an accredited dental assisting program at a Pennsylvania community college, such as Harrisburg Area Community College or Community College of Philadelphia, which include clinical externships that often convert to job offers. Large practice networks and community health centers in Pennsylvania regularly hire new graduates into associate dental assistant roles. Earning your Pennsylvania State Board registration and Radiation Health and Safety certification before applying gives candidates a clear edge over those still completing requirements.
Where can I find and apply to registered dental assistant jobs in Pennsylvania?
You can find and apply to registered dental assistant jobs in Pennsylvania on Migrate Mate, which lists current Pennsylvania openings across private practices, health systems, and specialty dental groups. Find roles that fit your experience and credentials and apply directly to the employers posting them.
