Description
American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring a BSN, PA or compact RN license, and two years of telemetry experience.
Details
- Work on a Med/Surg Tele unit
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
- No block scheduling permitted
- Every other weekend required
- No on-call responsibilities
- Floating possible to another unit if census is low or need arises elsewhere
- EPIC charting system used, experience preferred
Requirements
- BSN required
- Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
- Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
- Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience required
- Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line management
- Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and respiratory care (oxygen administration, tracheostomy care) preferred
- Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
- Two valid professional references and certification copies required
- PA Fingerprints and Childline clearance required within 12 months of start
- Pass/Fail clinical exam required for consideration
Additional Information
- Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
- Manage GI care including feeding tube management and IV insulin protocols
- Perform starting and maintaining IVs and oxygen tank management
- Holiday coverage required for one summer and one winter holiday
- RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and cannot be added afterward
- Navy blue scrubs required
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
- Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
- Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
