Description

American Traveler is hiring a Med/Surg Tele RN for a night shift position requiring a BSN, PA or compact RN license, and two years of telemetry experience.

Details

• Work on a Med/Surg Tele unit
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts from 18:45 to 07:15
• No block scheduling permitted
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating possible to another unit if census is low or need arises elsewhere
• EPIC charting system used, experience preferred

Requirements

• BSN required
• Active RN license (PA or Compact) required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of Med/Surg Tele experience required
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation experience required
• Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and PICC line management
• Experience with wound care/wound vac, isolation precautions/PPE, and respiratory care (oxygen administration, tracheostomy care) preferred
• Valid state license or certification required at time of consideration
• Two valid professional references and certification copies required
• PA Fingerprints and Childline clearance required within 12 months of start
• Pass/Fail clinical exam required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide direct patient care including cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of Rapid Response/Code teams
• Manage GI care including feeding tube management and IV insulin protocols
• Perform starting and maintaining IVs and oxygen tank management
• Holiday coverage required for one summer and one winter holiday
• RTO must be submitted prior to consideration and cannot be added afterward
• Navy blue scrubs required
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius at a local rate differential
• Labs must be completed within 48 hours of signing
