Registered Respiratory Therapist Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a registered respiratory therapist job in Indianapolis?
Indianapolis hiring concentrates in large academic medical centers, community hospitals, and long-term acute care facilities, with the strongest demand in critical care, neonatal ICU, and sleep diagnostics. Candidates who hold an advanced practitioner credential or have experience on high-frequency oscillatory ventilators stand out locally. Targeting health systems anchored in the Midtown and Near Northside corridors gives you the densest concentration of open positions.

The Indianapolis market is led by large integrated health systems and specialty hospitals, with additional openings at rehabilitation centers and home health agencies serving the metro area.

Remote work is rare for registered respiratory therapists because the role is almost entirely hands-on and patient-facing. About 0% of registered respiratory therapist openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and those roles are typically in telehealth monitoring, clinical documentation review, or respiratory therapy education rather than direct patient care.
