Mid Level Registered Respiratory Therapist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level registered respiratory therapist job?
Position yourself around clinical ownership rather than task completion. Highlight cases where you managed a full respiratory care plan independently, adapted ventilator settings under pressure, or trained a newer colleague. Employers hiring at this level want to see that you can be trusted with complex patients and can contribute beyond the basics of your credential.
Which companies hire mid level registered respiratory therapists?
Companies hiring mid level registered respiratory therapists right now include Banner Health, Trinity Health, and Bronson Healthcare Group, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Health systems, acute care hospitals, and long-term acute care facilities make up the bulk of employers seeking candidates at this experience level.
Are there remote mid level registered respiratory therapist jobs?
Yes, though most openings remain clinical and on-site. About 3% of mid level registered respiratory therapist openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, and those roles tend to sit in telehealth monitoring, clinical education, or utilization review rather than direct patient care.
How do I move up to a mid level registered respiratory therapist role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built through consistent independent practice and measurable clinical impact. Focus on mastering advanced modalities like high-frequency oscillation or inhaled nitric oxide delivery, documenting outcomes you owned, and volunteering for protocol development or precepting. Employers look for clinicians who have grown past following instructions and started shaping them.
Which industries hire the most mid level registered respiratory therapists?
Mid Level registered respiratory therapist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Medical Devices, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors drive demand because they serve high-acuity patient populations that require ongoing respiratory management from experienced clinicians rather than new graduates still building core competency.
