The Registrar has primary responsibility for managing the logistical arrangements for the Art Museum’s robust schedule of exhibitions. The Registrar is the senior member of a team of two registrars responsible for managing the Museum’s active program of outgoing loans from its collection to museums and cultural institutions. The Registrar also oversees the active incoming loan program. This is distinct from incoming exhibition-related loans and consists of short- and long-term loans from collectors and institutions.
The Registrar reports to the Chief Registrar, who reports to the Sr. Associate Director for Collections and Exhibitions. The Registrar mentors the Associate Registrar and provides guidance and training to them as appropriate.

Senior Level Registrar Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior level registrar job?
Employers hiring at this level look for candidates who have owned complex records systems end-to-end, not just maintained them. Demonstrating experience leading process improvements, training staff, and navigating compliance audits independently gives you a clear edge. Tailoring your application to show scope of ownership, not just task completion, is what separates senior-level candidates from mid-level ones.
Which companies hire senior level registrars?
Companies hiring senior level registrars right now include ThedaCare, Squarespace, and NorthBay Health, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from large healthcare systems, universities, government agencies, and established institutions that manage high-volume or high-stakes records operations requiring experienced leadership.
Are there remote senior level registrar jobs?
Yes, though availability varies by industry and employer. About 67% of senior level registrar openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, with healthcare and higher education roles more likely to require on-site presence given the nature of records access and team oversight at this level.
What makes a registrar role senior level?
Senior level registrar roles carry ownership over entire records systems, compliance frameworks, or institutional data operations rather than executing within them. Expectations include setting policy, leading or mentoring junior staff, managing cross-departmental relationships, and making judgment calls on complex or non-routine cases. The distinction is accountability for outcomes, not just accuracy in execution.
Which industries hire the most senior level registrars?
Senior Level registrar roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Education, and Technology & Software, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. These sectors drive demand because they operate under strict regulatory or accreditation requirements that call for experienced professionals who can own compliance, manage volume, and lead institutional records functions with minimal oversight.
