Second Screen Digital is looking for an experienced Advertising Sales & Business Development Manager with at least three years of experience selling advertising agency services to direct-to-consumer and e-commerce brands.
This is a proactive new-business role. The person hired will be responsible for finding, nurturing, and converting their own leads—not simply following up with opportunities provided by the agency.
The ideal candidate already understands the DTC and e-commerce landscape, has relationships within the industry, and can confidently sell advertising services to founders, business owners, CMOs, marketing directors, and other decision-makers.
Responsibilities
- Proactively identify and pursue DTC and e-commerce brands that need advertising and creative support
- Generate leads through outbound prospecting, referrals, networking, LinkedIn, industry events, partnerships, and existing relationships
- Build and maintain a qualified pipeline of prospective clients
- Develop relationships with founders, CMOs, marketing directors, e-commerce leaders, and other decision-makers
- Conduct discovery calls to understand each brand’s revenue goals, advertising challenges, customer acquisition strategy, budget, and growth priorities
- Clearly communicate Second Screen Digital’s advertising services, capabilities, and value proposition
- Sell agency services such as paid social advertising, paid search, creative strategy, ad production, campaign management, testing, and performance optimization
- Explain how the agency can help brands improve customer acquisition, creative performance, conversion rates, ROAS, and profitable growth
- Create customized sales presentations and proposals in collaboration with agency leadership
- Address prospect questions and objections related to pricing, performance, attribution, creative strategy, and agency partnerships
- Consistently nurture prospects through both short and long sales cycles
- Negotiate contracts and close new agency business
- Maintain accurate lead, pipeline, follow-up, and revenue forecasting information in the agency’s CRM
- Meet or exceed established sales, pipeline, and new-business revenue goals
Required Experience
- At least three years of experience selling advertising or performance marketing services to DTC and e-commerce brands
- Previous sales or business development experience at an advertising, digital marketing, performance marketing, or creative agency
- A demonstrated record of independently sourcing, nurturing, and closing new agency business
- Existing knowledge of the DTC and e-commerce ecosystem, including the challenges brands face when acquiring and retaining customers
- Experience selling agency retainers, advertising management, creative services, or other ongoing marketing engagements
- A strong network of relationships with DTC founders, e-commerce executives, marketing leaders, or industry partners
- Experience managing an active pipeline and longer agency sales cycles
- Strong presentation, negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience using a CRM to manage prospects, follow-up activities, and sales forecasts
Advertising Knowledge
Candidates should be able to speak confidently about:
- Meta, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and Google advertising
- Paid social and paid search campaign management
- Customer acquisition cost, return on ad spend, conversion rates, and lifetime value
- Advertising creative strategy, testing, and performance
- Media budgets, campaign measurement, attribution, and scaling
- Common advertising and growth challenges faced by DTC and e-commerce brands
This person does not need to manage advertising campaigns directly, but they must understand advertising well enough to earn a prospect’s trust, identify business needs, and clearly communicate how the agency can help.
What Success Looks Like
Success in this role means consistently creating qualified sales opportunities and converting them into long-term agency clients.
The successful candidate will:
- Independently build a pipeline of qualified DTC and e-commerce prospects
- Secure meetings with relevant brand decision-makers
- Identify genuine advertising needs and revenue opportunities
- Move prospects through the sales process with consistent, strategic follow-up
- Close new advertising and creative-services agreements
- Meet or exceed new-business revenue targets
- Build lasting relationships that generate renewals, referrals, and additional opportunities
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is a proactive salesperson with deep knowledge of advertising and the DTC e-commerce space. You know where to find growing brands, how to reach their decision-makers, and how to begin productive sales conversations.
You understand that selling advertising services requires more than delivering a standard pitch. You can listen to a brand’s challenges, ask informed questions, connect advertising strategy to commercial outcomes, and clearly explain why Second Screen Digital is the right agency partner.
This is a hands-on business development position for someone who creates opportunities, builds relationships, and closes business. If your approach is to wait for leads to arrive, this will not be the right role.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year

Tips for Your Remote Advertising Manager Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote advertising manager openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly. Remote roles close fast, so checking regularly and applying as soon as a fit appears gives you a real advantage.
Show async campaign management in your portfolio
Remote employers want proof you can run paid media, display, or programmatic campaigns without daily check-ins. Include case studies that show results you owned end-to-end, the tools you used, and how you reported performance to stakeholders working in different time zones.
Lead your resume with remote-ready skills
Advertising managers competing for remote roles should surface platform certifications, specific ad tech tools like Campaign Manager 360 or the Meta Ads Manager, and any distributed team experience near the top of their resume so hiring managers recognize the fit immediately.
Prepare for an async-first remote interview process
Many remote-first companies use video submissions or written take-home assessments before a live interview. Practice articulating campaign strategy and performance results clearly in writing, because your written communication often gets evaluated before you ever speak to a hiring manager.
Remote Advertising Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote advertising manager job?
Remote advertising managers get hired by demonstrating they can own campaigns independently without day-to-day oversight. Remote employers screen for strong written communication, comfort with async collaboration tools like Slack and project management platforms, and a portfolio showing measurable results. Candidates who show specific platform expertise, such as paid search or programmatic buying, and documented remote work or freelance experience move to the front of the line.
Which companies hire remote advertising managers?
Companies hiring remote advertising managers right now include Neato, miris, and Optomi, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. Remote-first technology firms, e-commerce brands, and digital media companies account for the largest share of remote advertising manager openings because their teams are already distributed across time zones.
Can you get a remote advertising manager job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level advertising manager roles are harder to land because employers expect you to manage campaigns with minimal hand-holding from day one. Smaller remote-first brands and startups are more open to early-career candidates. A portfolio showing freelance campaign results, certifications from Google or Meta advertising platforms, and demonstrated async communication skills can substitute for traditional full-time experience.
Do you need a degree for remote advertising manager jobs?
Not always. Remote employers weight demonstrated advertising results, platform certifications, and a portfolio of managed campaigns heavily alongside or instead of a degree. Many remote-first companies care more about your ability to drive measurable outcomes and communicate clearly in writing than about the specific credential on your resume.
Which industries hire the most remote advertising managers?
The sectors hiring the most remote advertising managers are Technology & Software and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. These industries rely on distributed marketing teams and run always-on digital campaigns that don't require advertising managers to be in a central office.
