Who we are
Samsara (NYSE: IOT) is the pioneer of the Connected Operations™ Cloud, which is a platform that enables organizations that depend on physical operations to harness Internet of Things (IoT) data to develop actionable insights and improve their operations. At Samsara, we are helping improve the safety, efficiency and sustainability of the physical operations that power our global economy. Representing more than 40% of global GDP, these industries are the infrastructure of our planet, including agriculture, construction, field services, transportation, and manufacturing — and we are excited to help digitally transform their operations at scale.
Working at Samsara means you'll help define the future of physical operations and be on a team that's shaping an exciting array of product solutions, including Video-Based Safety, Vehicle Telematics, Apps and Driver Workflows, and Equipment Monitoring. As part of a recently public company, you'll have the autonomy and support to make an impact as we build for the long term.
About the role:
In Samsara's Business Technology Core IT team, we work to deliver awesome systems, support, and experiences that enable our teams to be as impactful as possible. As a member of the team, you'll be in charge of owning the technology and processes that enable our people to do their best work. We are responsible for identifying, designing, implementing, and supporting the applications and integrations that create a streamlined experience for Samsarians.
As a Sr. IT Engineer on the Identity & Access Management team, you will be a technical owner for Samsara's identity infrastructure — including Okta, Google Workspace, and our Workato-based automation platform (OWL-IT). You will drive strategic initiatives, ensure platform availability and compliance, and directly contribute to reducing IT toil through automation and engineering excellence. You will also act as a subject matter expert for StateRAMP/FedRAMP controls and serve as Tier 3 escalation support for the team's most complex and sensitive requests.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in the US except the San Francisco Bay Metro Area, NYC Metro Area, and Washington, D.C. Metro Area.
You should apply if:
- You want to impact the industries that run our world: Your efforts will result in real-world impact—helping to keep the lights on, get food into grocery stores, reduce emissions, and most importantly, ensure workers return home safely.
- You are the architect of your own career: If you put in the work, this role won't be your last at Samsara. We set up our employees for success and have built a culture that encourages rapid career development, countless opportunities to experiment and master your craft in a hyper growth environment.
- You're energized by our opportunity: The vision we have to digitize large sectors of the global economy requires your full focus and best efforts to bring forth creative, ambitious ideas for our customers.
- You want to be with the best: At Samsara, we win together, celebrate together and support each other. You will be surrounded by a high-caliber team that will encourage you to do your best.
In this role, you will:
- Own, maintain, and optimize Samsara's Okta environments (commercial and StateRAMP/FedRAMP), including SSO integrations, group management, Okta Workflows automation, and access policy governance.
- Design, build, and support integrations and automations using Workato, including ownership of the OWL-IT IT Genie platform — Samsara's AI-powered IT service delivery and provisioning system.
- Administer and support Google Workspace, including Marketplace app management, group and OU configuration, offboarding automation, and service account governance.
- Lead and contribute to Identity & Access Management initiatives including birthright provisioning, role-based access controls, Saviynt RBAC, and access lifecycle automation.
- Be the primary IT engineering SME for StateRAMP/FedRAMP IT controls — scoping, implementing, documenting, and gathering evidence to satisfy compliance requirements.
- Provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex, sensitive, and security-related IT incidents, including SCIM, provisioning failures, and authentication issues across identity-integrated systems.
- Build and maintain clear documentation including runbooks, architecture diagrams, access policies, and business process flows in Confluence.
- Partner with Security, GRC, and cross-functional IT teams to strengthen the security posture of Samsara's identity and access management infrastructure.
- Research, assess, and incorporate new vendors and technologies into the IT stack, including evaluating automation opportunities with tools like Workato One, Vertex AI, and Gemini Enterprise.
- Mentor teammates and help elevate the technical capabilities of the broader IT Engineering team.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara's cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- 5+ years of experience in an IT Systems Engineering role with a minimum of 3+ years of hands-on experience with Okta, including SSO configuration, provisioning, group rules, Okta Workflows, and ITGC/SOX-compliant access controls.
- Demonstrated experience building and maintaining automation using Workato or similar iPaaS platforms.
- Proficiency working with REST APIs (Python preferred) for integration and automation development.
- Demonstrated experience administering Google Workspace.
- Experience implementing and supporting an Identity & Access Management solution in a corporate environment.
- Solid fundamentals in IT security, corporate systems, and compliance, with experience contributing to audit-ready processes and controls documentation.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and lead technical work autonomously across functions and with stakeholders at all levels.
An ideal candidate also has:
- Hands-on experience with an IGA/PAM platform.
- Experience supporting StateRAMP, FedRAMP, or SOX IT General Controls (ITGCs) in a fast-moving environment.
- Expertise building complex Workflows for automating complex IT Operations Processes.
- Google Apps Manager (GAM) Experience.
- Demonstrated experience with Workato Connector SDK or building custom connectors.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Splunk, or Terraform for infrastructure automation and observability.
- Experience with SCIM provisioning patterns and troubleshooting across enterprise SaaS applications.
- Ability to build Splunk dashboards and alerts for operationalizing integrations and monitoring identity events.
Total Rewards
At Samsara, we build for the people who keep the global economy moving. We want owners, not passengers, which is why our rewards are designed to fuel high-impact builders. Our compensation program delivers above-market total compensation through a combination of base salary, performance-based bonus/variable pay, and equity (for eligible roles) in a high-growth public company. We meaningfully differentiate pay for our top performers, who have the opportunity to earn above-market compensation that can outpace the broader market over time.
Beyond compensation, we provide the foundations that enable long-term success: a flexible, employee-led remote model, a professional development stipend, comprehensive health and parental leave plans, and more. If you're ready to build for the long term and own the outcome, your journey starts here.
Flexible Working
At Samsara, we embrace a flexible working model that caters to the diverse needs of our teams. Our offices are open for those who prefer to work in-person and we also support remote work where it aligns with our operational requirements. For certain positions, being close to one of our offices or within a specific geographic area is important to facilitate collaboration, access to resources, or alignment with our service regions. In these cases, the job description will clearly indicate any working location requirements. Our goal is to ensure that all members of our team can contribute effectively, whether they are working on-site, in a hybrid model, or fully remotely. All offers of employment are contingent upon an individual's ability to secure and maintain the legal right to work at the company and in the specified work location, if applicable.

Tips for Your Remote Clinical Technology Specialist Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote clinical technology specialist openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your specialty and apply directly. Remote postings fill fast, and early applicants get first contact from hiring teams.
Show your async troubleshooting ability upfront
Remote clinical technology roles depend on your ability to diagnose and resolve issues without being on-site. Add a short section to your resume or cover letter documenting a complex case you resolved remotely, including the tools you used and how you communicated the fix to clinical staff.
Build fluency in remote clinical support tools
Remote employers screen for hands-on experience with platforms like Salesforce Health Cloud, ServiceNow Healthcare, and video-based clinical training tools. Name the specific systems you've supported in your application materials, not just general 'clinical technology' experience.
Prepare for asynchronous remote interviews
Many remote clinical technology employers use asynchronous video screening before live interviews. Practice answering scenario-based questions clearly and concisely on camera, focusing on how you handle escalations, user training, and technical failures without in-person support.
Target distributed health-tech teams directly
Remote-first digital health companies and medical device firms with national client bases hire clinical technology specialists on distributed teams year-round. Search by company type and remote designation rather than geography to find roles where remote work is the default, not an exception.
Remote Clinical Technology Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote clinical technology specialist job?
Target companies that run distributed clinical or health-tech teams, such as remote-first medical device firms, digital health platforms, and hospital systems with virtual support models. Remote employers screen for strong written communication, the ability to troubleshoot independently without on-site backup, and familiarity with tools like Salesforce Health Cloud, Zendesk, or clinical support ticketing systems. A portfolio of resolved cases or documented training materials gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote clinical technology specialists?
Remote clinical technology specialist roles are posted by Pond & Company, ZS Associates, and Jobot and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The hiring base includes remote-first medical device companies, digital health startups, and large health systems that operate distributed clinical support and implementation teams.
Can you get a remote clinical technology specialist job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry roles in this field are harder to land because you must work independently from day one without on-site mentorship. Entry-level remote openings appear most often at digital health companies and health IT vendors onboarding clinical software. Candidates who stand out show hands-on familiarity with clinical systems through coursework, internships, or volunteer IT support, and demonstrate strong async communication through clear, organized writing samples.
Do you need a degree for remote clinical technology specialist jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers prioritize demonstrated clinical technology competency over a specific degree, particularly at health IT vendors and medical device companies. A background in biomedical engineering, health informatics, or a related technical field helps, but certifications in clinical systems, documented implementation experience, and a history of resolving complex support cases can carry equal weight with remote hiring managers.
Which industries hire the most remote clinical technology specialists?
The sectors hiring the most remote clinical technology specialists are Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors rely on distributed support and implementation teams to service clients, deploy clinical software, and provide technical guidance without requiring specialists to be on-site full time.
