We work at the cutting edge of technology to advise, assess, automate, and ultimately help companies navigate the ever-changing cybersecurity landscape. We are headquartered in Chicago, Illinois with offices across the U.S. and U.K., and we support clients around the world.
But that’s not who we are – that’s just what we do.
We are thought leaders, consultants, and cybersecurity experts, but above all else, we are a team of passionate problem-solvers who are hungry to learn, grow, and make a difference.
Position Summary
Coalfire is seeking a Social Media Manager / Content Creator to manage our social presence while producing compelling, high-quality content across channels and formats. This role goes beyond social publishing. It will help bring the Coalfire brand to life through strong storytelling, short-form and long-form content creation, video editing, visual asset development, and campaign amplification that strengthens brand awareness, elevates thought leadership, and supports pipeline growth.
This person will own day-to-day social execution, but will also serve as a hands-on content creator who can turn technical ideas, company news, event moments, research, customer stories, and executive perspectives into clear, engaging content people want to watch, read, and share. Our marketing team’s top priority is lead generation, and this role will help fuel that motion with content that is both brand-building and performance-minded.
Success in this Role
The right candidate will combine strong content instincts with operational rigor. They will know how to move quickly without sacrificing quality, collaborate well across stakeholders, and use social as a strategic lever to grow Coalfire’s visibility, credibility, and demand generation impact.
- Own and manage Coalfire’s social media content calendar and publishing cadence across corporate priority channels.
- Create original content across formats, including social posts, campaign copy, short videos, motion snippets, executive content, event recaps, customer story highlights, webinar promos, and other digital brand assets.
- Write compelling, audience-first copy that turns complex cybersecurity, compliance, and AI topics into clear, engaging stories for executive and practitioner audiences.
- Capture and shape content ideas into strong narratives, hooks, and story arcs that help Coalfire stand out in-market and make technical subject matter more accessible and memorable.
- Edit video content for social and campaign use, including clipping webinars, interviews, event footage, demos, and thought leadership moments into polished, channel-ready assets.
- Develop or adapt visual assets such as social graphics, quote cards, carousels, simple motion graphics, thumbnails, and branded promotional materials in partnership with design or through light hands-on production.
- Partner with marketing leaders, designers, campaign owners, executives, and subject matter experts to develop channel-ready content and creative assets aligned to launches, campaigns, events, webinars, case studies, and research.
- Repurpose long-form content into high-performing multi-channel assets, extending the value of reports, blogs, webinars, presentations, podcasts, video, and event content.
- Manage day-to-day publishing, scheduling, and platform operations using social management tools such as Sprout Social or similar workflows already in use at Coalfire.
- Support and help scale Coalfire’s employee advocacy efforts by activating internal voices, shaping suggested messaging, and encouraging broader participation across the business.
- Monitor channel and content performance and produce clear, actionable reporting on engagement, audience growth, content performance, and social impact on website traffic, form fills, qualified leads, and broader business outcomes.
- Manage and engage in Coalfire’s internal social workflows, including coordination in the social Slack channel and collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Stay current on platform changes, content trends, storytelling formats, and creative best practices, then translate those insights into smarter recommendations for Coalfire’s brand and audience strategy.
- Protect brand integrity by ensuring all external communications align with Coalfire brand guidelines, social media guidance, and confidentiality expectations.
What You'll Bring
- 5–7 years of experience in social media, content marketing, digital content creation, brand journalism, communications, or a related B2B content role.
- Experience managing social media strategy and execution for a fast-paced B2B company or start up. Background in technology, cybersecurity, SaaS, or professional services brand preferred though others will be considered.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate technical or compliance-focused topics into clear, engaging, high-impact content.
- Strong content creation instincts across formats, with experience producing short-form video, visual storytelling assets, and campaign content from concept through final delivery.
- Experience with video editing and content production tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Premiere Pro, CapCut, Canva, Figma, or similar platforms.
- Ability to create or direct compelling graphics and visual assets that are on-brand, audience-relevant, and optimized for digital performance.
- Proven ability to build content calendars, manage deadlines, and keep multiple campaigns and deliverables moving with strong attention to detail.
- Experience partnering cross-functionally with designers, marketers, executives, and subject matter experts to produce high-quality content at speed.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using performance data to refine strategy, improve engagement, and connect content performance to business outcomes.
- Familiarity with employee advocacy, social listening, and social media management platforms.
- Comfortable working independently while collaborating effectively across a small, high-performing marketing team.
Bonus Points
- Experience in start ups, cybersecurity, compliance, cloud, AI security, or other highly technical B2B categories.
- Experience supporting executive social presence and thought leadership.
- Experience repurposing long-form assets such as webinars, research, reports, customer stories, and event content into social-first and campaign-ready content.
- Working knowledge of SEO, paid social, and demand generation alignment.

Tips for Your Remote Digital Content Specialist Job Search
Tailor your portfolio to content formats
Hiring managers for digital content roles look at your portfolio before your resume. Include work samples that show range across formats, like blog posts, email campaigns, and short-form video scripts, rather than listing content types you've worked with in the abstract.
Quantify content outcomes, not just output
Listings for digital content specialists almost always ask for impact metrics. Replace phrases like 'wrote articles' with results tied to organic traffic growth, email open rates, or engagement lifts. Even rough numbers from analytics dashboards make your resume stand out.
Filter openings by content management systems
Many postings require hands-on experience with a specific CMS like WordPress, HubSpot, or Contentful. Use those tool names as search filters to find roles where your stack already matches, so you're not competing against candidates who have the exact platform experience the employer wants.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists digital content specialist openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare a content strategy take-home response
Digital content interviews often include a brief exercise asking you to outline a content calendar or audit an existing piece of copy. Practice writing a concise content brief in under 30 minutes so you're ready to show strategic thinking under a realistic time constraint.
Negotiate scope before accepting any offer
Before you sign, clarify whether the role is purely execution or includes strategy ownership, because that distinction shapes your title trajectory and workload. Ask directly how success is measured at 90 days and whether you'll manage freelancers or an editorial calendar on your own.
