Job Title: Digital PR Manager (SEO Development Strategist)
Location: Remote (USA)
Department: Digital Public Relations / SEO
Employment Type: Full-Time
About Us:
Ignite Visibility is a nationally recognized, award-winning digital marketing agency headquartered in sunny San Diego. Named the #1 SEO Company in the US and a multiple-time Inc. 5000 honoree, we are a fast-growing powerhouse dedicated to delivering explosive results for the world's top brands. We are looking for a strategic, creative, and highly organized Digital PR Manager to own the link-building and online visibility component of our client campaigns.
The Role:
This is not your traditional PR role. We are looking for a link-building expert who understands that in the digital age, media mentions are the ultimate ranking signal. You will be the bridge between traditional public relations and technical SEO, responsible for crafting compelling narratives that earn high-authority backlinks and drive measurable organic growth.
You will join a collaborative, high-performance team where your ability to build relationships, spot trends, and secure placements directly impacts our clients' bottom lines. If you have a nose for news, a talent for persuasive writing, and a proven track record of earning links that move the needle, we want to talk to you.
What You'll Do:
Earn High-Value Links: Develop and execute strategic outreach campaigns designed to secure authoritative editorial mentions and backlinks for a diverse portfolio of clients.
Build Reporter Relationships: Prospect, vet, and cultivate meaningful relationships with journalists, editors, and bloggers across various industries.
Craft Compelling Pitches: Write customized, newsworthy email pitches that cut through the noise and resonate with specific reporters and publications.
Develop Story Angles: Collaborate with internal teams to formulate data-driven story ideas, article topics, and creative content that publications want to feature.
Manage the Full Cycle: From initial research and prospect list building to securing the placement and reporting on KPIs, you will own the process.
Communicate with Impact: Provide timely updates to clients and internal stakeholders, and clearly communicate the value of earned media in the context of overall SEO goals.
Who You Are:
You are a seasoned self-starter with 3-4 years of experience at the intersection of PR and SEO. You are obsessed with details, organized to a fault, and thrive on the thrill of securing a hard-to-get placement. You bring a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and a proactive approach to every campaign.
Required Qualifications:
Link Building Expertise: 3-4 years of proven experience in PR or SEO link building, with a portfolio of earned placements.
Outreach Mastery: Experience using outreach platforms and tools to find and connect with the right reporters.
Technical Familiarity: Experience with Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar tools to evaluate link opportunities is a significant plus.
Superior Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; you can write a pitch that gets opened and read.
Organizational Prowess: Strong task and project management skills to juggle multiple clients and campaigns simultaneously.
Why Ignite Visibility?
We don't just talk about growth; we invest in it. Here, you'll find a culture that values your contributions and supports your career trajectory.
Award-Winning Culture: Named a "Best Place to Work" in San Diego (2017, 2020, 2025).
Proven Industry Leaders: Two-time Landy Award Winner (Search Marketer of the Year & Best Paid Search Initiative) and recognized as one of the Fastest-Growing Private Companies in San Diego (2016-2020) and the Inc. 5000 (2017-2020), 2022-2025.
Flexible Work Environment: Fully remote workforce with the option to collaborate in our sunny San Diego office.

Tips for Your Remote Pr Manager Job Search
Tailor your resume for each sector
Corporate PR and agency PR require different emphasis. For in-house roles, highlight owned narrative work and executive communications. For agency roles, lead with client diversity, media placement volume, and your ability to manage multiple accounts without dropping coverage.
Build a clip portfolio before you apply
Most pr manager hiring managers expect to see placements, not just a list of outlets you pitched. Organize your portfolio by campaign, include the brief, the angle you pitched, and the resulting coverage so reviewers can evaluate your strategic thinking, not just your output.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists pr manager openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Target job titles that feed into the role
Postings for pr manager often sit alongside titles like communications manager, media relations manager, and public affairs manager. Search all three when scanning for openings so you don't miss roles that match your experience but use different title conventions.
Prepare a crisis communications example
Interviewers consistently ask for a situation where you managed a reputational issue under pressure. Have one example ready that covers what triggered the situation, how you decided on messaging, which channels you used, and how the story resolved.
Negotiate scope before you negotiate salary
PR roles vary widely in whether you manage a team, an agency retainer, or both. Before accepting any offer, clarify reporting structure, budget authority, and whether media buying or event production falls under your remit, since those affect workload and career trajectory.
Remote Pr Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote pr manager job?
Target companies that already run distributed teams, since they hire remotely by default and know how to onboard someone they never meet in person. Remote pr manager employers screen hard for self-direction and clear written communication on top of the core skills, so show evidence you can own work without someone over your shoulder. Apply to the openings above that match your experience.
Which companies hire remote pr managers?
Remote pr manager roles are posted by Providence, Sangoma, and Unlock Health and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first firms and large companies running distributed teams post the most remote pr manager roles.
Can you get a remote pr manager job with no experience?
Yes, but it is harder than an on-site role, because remote work expects you to operate independently from the start. Entry-level remote pr manager openings do exist, especially at remote-first companies, and a portfolio of real work helps more than a long resume. Applying broadly to the roles that fit improves your odds.
Do you need a degree for remote pr manager jobs?
Not always. Many employers hire remote pr managers on demonstrated skills and prior work rather than a specific degree, though some larger companies still prefer one. Showing relevant results matters more than a credential for most remote pr manager roles.
Which industries hire the most remote pr managers?
Remote pr manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Agriculture & Farming, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors run distributed teams and hire pr managers remotely most consistently.
