INTRODUCTION
This is a remote position with preferences for candidates in the Huntsville, AL area.
We are seeking an experienced Senior Broadband Consultant to lead strategic, technical, and financial advisory engagements supporting broadband network development and deployment. This role serves as a client-facing leader, responsible for delivering high-impact consulting services across feasibility studies, funding strategies, network planning, and program execution.
The ideal candidate combines deep telecommunications expertise, strong consulting acumen, and proven leadership skills to guide clients through complex broadband initiatives while contributing to business growth and practice development.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role, you’ll serve as a trusted partner to our clients—utilities, municipalities, cooperatives, and private providers—acting as their primary point of contact throughout engagements. You’ll help shape broadband strategies by leading the development of master plans, market assessments, and business cases, while offering thoughtful, executive-level guidance to senior stakeholders.
You’ll also take the lead on delivering consulting engagements from start to finish, ensuring everything runs smoothly from kickoff through final deliverables. This includes managing cross-functional teams across engineering, GIS, financial modeling, grants, and construction, and keeping work on track to meet quality, schedule, and budget expectations.
A big part of the role involves guiding network strategy and technical direction. You’ll oversee the evaluation and planning of fiber, fixed wireless, and hybrid broadband solutions, assess existing infrastructure, and help define smart, scalable deployment approaches. Your expertise will help drive key decisions around network architecture, capacity, and performance.
On the financial side, you’ll oversee the development of robust models—covering ROI, business cases, and operating scenarios—while helping clients navigate funding opportunities. This includes shaping strategies for federal and state programs like BEAD and NTIA, and providing direction on grant applications, compliance, and overall funding alignment.
You’ll also play a visible role in stakeholder and community engagement, leading workshops, executive briefings, and public meetings. Along the way, you’ll collaborate with local governments, regulatory agencies, and funding entities, while managing relationships with vendors and partners across the broadband ecosystem.
From a program leadership perspective, you’ll provide oversight on execution—keeping an eye on schedules, budgets, and risks—while establishing governance frameworks, reporting structures, and performance metrics. You’ll help guide clients as they transition from planning into engineering, construction, and implementation.
Finally, you’ll contribute to the growth of the business by supporting proposals, defining scopes, and shaping pricing strategies. You’ll also help uncover new opportunities within existing and prospective accounts, and lend your voice to thought leadership efforts through presentations, whitepapers, and industry forums.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 8–15+ years of experience in broadband, telecommunications, or infrastructure consulting
- Demonstrated experience leading complex broadband or telecommunications projects
- Strong background in fiber, wireless, and/or hybrid network architectures
- Proven ability to manage client relationships and lead project teams

- Experience supporting public-sector broadband initiatives (states, municipalities, co-ops)

Tips for Your Remote Senior Consultant Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote senior consultant openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly without sorting through unrelated listings.
Prove your async communication skills upfront
Remote consulting firms evaluate written communication before they ever schedule a call. Lead your application materials with clear, structured writing that mirrors how you'd brief a client or summarize a deliverable in a distributed environment.
Document your remote project outcomes
Build a concise engagement log that captures the problem, your approach, and the measurable result for each consulting project. Remote hiring managers can't observe your work in person, so documented outcomes do the work your presence can't.
Target remote-first firms and distributed teams
Remote senior consultant roles are concentrated at remote-first consulting practices and companies that run distributed professional services teams. These employers already have the infrastructure, norms, and management style to support senior consultants working fully remotely.
Prepare for a structured remote interview process
Remote consulting interviews often include a written case component or async assignment before the live interview. Practice presenting your analytical process clearly in writing and refine how you walk through your reasoning on a video call with no whiteboard.
Remote Senior Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote senior consultant job?
Remote senior consultant roles go to candidates who can demonstrate independent judgment, strong written communication, and the ability to manage client relationships without in-person contact. Remote-first consulting firms and distributed professional services teams screen heavily for self-direction and async collaboration skills. A portfolio of completed engagements, measurable outcomes, and references who can speak to your remote work style gives you a clear edge.
Which companies hire remote senior consultants?
Remote senior consultant roles are posted by Corebridge Financial, Veeva Systems, and Curvion Blue and others right now, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first consulting firms, distributed strategy teams, and professional services organizations across technology, finance, and management consulting are among the most active hirers.
Can you get a remote senior consultant job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry into consulting is harder because you're expected to operate independently from day one without in-office mentorship. Remote-first boutique firms and smaller distributed teams are more open to junior candidates than large legacy consultancies. Showing a structured work sample, a relevant certification, or a completed freelance project demonstrates you can deliver without hand-holding, which is what remote hiring managers want to see.
Do you need a degree for remote senior consultant jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers weigh demonstrated expertise, a history of client results, and domain-specific skills more heavily than a degree for senior consultant roles. Industry certifications, a strong project portfolio, and client references can substitute for or supplement formal education, particularly at remote-first firms that evaluate candidates on output and capability rather than credentials alone.
Which industries hire the most remote senior consultants?
Most remote senior consultant openings sit in Technology & Software, Consulting & Professional Services, and Insurance, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors rely on distributed teams and ongoing advisory work that translates well to remote delivery, making senior consultants a consistent hire across geographies.
