About this Role:
In this role, you will act as a core engine for both strategic sourcing and procurement operations. You will fully own the end-to-end sourcing and negotiation lifecycle for our mid-tier spend bucket ($25k–$250k contract value), manage day-to-day procurement operations, and project-manage the digital transformation of our intake-to-pay infrastructure. This is an exceptional opportunity for a builder who loves both negotiation and process optimization.
Responsibilities:
1. Strategic Sourcing & Negotiation (40%)
- Proactively manage and execute the sourcing and negotiation lifecycle for $25k–$250k contracts, focusing heavily on SaaS, Tech, and Professional Services.
- Develop sourcing strategies that optimize vendor selection, maximize commercial leverage, and protect Lyra’s margins.
2. Procurement Operations & Tech Stack Transformation (40%)
- Serve as the dedicated Project Manager for our Intake-to-Pay (P2P) platform implementation, collaborating with IT, Legal, and Finance to ensure a seamless rollout.
- Manage day-to-day administration and optimization of our core fintech and procurement tools, including Navan and Brex.
3. Data Analytics & Stakeholder Collaboration (20%)
- Act as an Excel power-user; analyze large datasets, identify spend trends, catch auto-renewals early, and eliminate maverick spend.
- Sanitize and structure spend data to provide granular insights for our annual Zero-Based Budgeting (ZBB) process.
- Build cross-functional relationships with Legal, InfoSec, Privacy, AI, Tech, and FP&A to ensure all operational intake requirements are automated and compliant.
Qualifications
- Experience: 4+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, procurement operations, or supply chain management, preferably within a high-growth tech or healthcare environment.
- SaaS & Category Expertise: Proven track record of independently negotiating mid-tier technology (SaaS), Marketing, Consulting, and Professional Services contracts.
- Systems Fluent: Hands-on experience with modern Procurement/P2P software and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools. Experience leading or heavily supporting a P2P tool implementation is a massive plus.
- Analytical Polish: Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with the ability to turn spend data into highly structured, actionable information.
- Project Management: Exceptional time-management and project management skills; ability to balance running multiple fast-moving sourcing projects simultaneously with a major software rollout.
- Communication: Ability to navigate cross-functional bottlenecks and negotiate effectively with vendors.
As a full-time Strategic Sourcing Manager, you will be employed by Lyra Health, Inc. The anticipated annual base salary range for this full-time position is $85,000 - $117,000. The base range is determined by role and level, and placement within the range will depend on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to your skills, qualifications, experience and location. - Comprehensive healthcare coverage (including medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life and disability insurances)
- Lyra for Lyrians; coaching and therapy services
- Equity in the company through discretionary restricted stock units

Tips for Your Remote Sourcing Specialist Job Search
Apply early to remote roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists remote sourcing specialist openings from across the U.S. in one place, so you can find roles that match your background and apply directly. Remote roles on active listings fill quickly, so applying as soon as a position matches your experience gives you the best shot.
Prove async communication before the interview
Remote sourcing roles run almost entirely through written channels. Before you apply, document examples of vendor negotiations, RFQ summaries, or supplier evaluations you communicated in writing. A short portfolio of these shows remote employers you can handle sourcing work without verbal check-ins.
Learn the procurement tools remote teams rely on
Remote sourcing teams run on platforms like Coupa, Jaggaer, SAP Ariba, and Ivalua. Knowing your way around at least one of these before you interview signals you can contribute without a ramp-up period, which matters more in a remote role than in an office where training is easier.
Target distributed teams in procurement-heavy sectors
Technology, healthcare, and e-commerce companies with distributed operations hire sourcing specialists remotely because their supplier bases are already global. Focusing your search on companies that publicly describe distributed or remote-first procurement functions increases the chances you're applying to roles built for remote work, not converted from on-site.
Prepare for remote interviews that test judgment calls
Remote sourcing interviews often include scenario questions about how you'd handle a supplier delay, a missed deadline, or a pricing dispute without escalating to a manager in person. Prepare specific past examples where you resolved sourcing problems independently, since remote employers are hiring for autonomous decision-making.
Remote Sourcing Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a remote sourcing specialist job?
Remote sourcing specialist roles go to candidates who can demonstrate self-direction and clear written communication from day one. Remote employers screen for proficiency with procurement platforms like Coupa or SAP Ariba, comfort managing vendor relationships asynchronously, and the ability to run sourcing events without in-person oversight. Showing documented results from past sourcing work, even in a hybrid setting, gives you a concrete edge over candidates who only list responsibilities.
Which companies hire remote sourcing specialists?
Employers currently hiring remote sourcing specialists include Accenture, Alvarez & Marsal, and Vf Services, per current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Remote-first technology companies, distributed healthcare organizations, and large e-commerce operations are among the most consistent hirers of sourcing specialists in fully remote arrangements.
Can you get a remote sourcing specialist job with no experience?
Yes, but remote entry-level sourcing roles are harder to land because employers expect you to work independently without day-to-day coaching. Smaller remote-first companies and startups with lean procurement teams are the most likely to hire entry-level candidates. Showing completed coursework in supply chain or procurement, a portfolio of practice RFQ documents, or a CPSM exam in progress can substitute meaningfully for direct experience.
Do you need a degree for remote sourcing specialist jobs?
Not always. Many remote employers list a degree as preferred rather than required, especially when candidates can show hands-on sourcing results, familiarity with procurement software, and strong vendor communication skills. A proven ability to manage sourcing cycles independently, demonstrated through past work or a professional certification like CPSM or CSCP, often carries as much weight as a formal degree in remote hiring decisions.
Which industries hire the most remote sourcing specialists?
The sectors hiring the most remote sourcing specialists are Consulting & Professional Services, Technology & Software, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current remote listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These industries rely heavily on distributed procurement teams that source goods, services, and suppliers across regions without requiring specialists to be on-site.
