JOB DESCRIPTION
The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is seeking a Grants & Projects Analyst 1 to join its dynamic Office of Medical Research. This role plays a key part in advancing the School’s Basic and Translational Research mission by supporting faculty in identifying funding opportunities and developing competitive external grant proposals.
Working in close partnership with faculty, postdoctoral scholars, graduate students, and the Sponsored Projects Office, the Grants & Projects Analyst 1 helps ensure grant submissions are timely, accurate, and compliant with sponsor and institutional requirements. In addition to proposal development, this position contributes to grant implementation and program coordination, including supporting a large, multi‑component program grant by tracking timelines, milestones, and deliverables.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborative work, project coordination, and contributing to high‑impact biomedical research at the School of Medicine.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public or business administration, accounting, finance or related field and one year of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas: writing grant applications; determining grant/subgrant program eligibility; researching, writing and implementing grant program plans; managing fiscal aspects of grants/subgrants; providing technical assistance to grant/subgrant recipients; and/or monitoring and ensuring grant/subgrant recipient compliance; OR

Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three years of professional grants experience which includes at least two of the following areas as described above; OR
-
One year of experience as a Grants & Projects Analyst Trainee in Nevada State service; OR
-
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
SCHEDULE
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
COMPENSATION GRADE
Grade 33
In classified service, salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment, the candidate’s qualifications, internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
