We are seeking a full time Clinical Research Assistant for an expanding clinical research site. Will participate in assigned research projects and activities with primary functions devoted to data collection and data review, recruiting of study participants, obtaining consent forms, scheduling appointments and maintaining and organizing study data.

Essential Job Functions:

Data collection responsibilities include: abstract data from paper and electronic medical records, organize study source documents including study visit materials, lab results, physician and nurse dictations, informed consents and correspondence materials. Schedule routine and as needed clinic visits per study protocol(s), rescheduling if necessary. Handle incoming phone calls, taking messages with accuracy. Prepare and mail physician letters and copies of lab results to study subjects’ primary care physicians. Process incoming and outgoing mail and packages, study drug inventory, and diagnostic specimens, shipping using IATA shipping requirements and appropriate courier service for pick-up. Prepare statistical data for reports and assist in updating study summary log. Prepare weekly safety reports using reporting template. Assist the Clinical Research Coordinator(s) with submissions for proposed research projects. Maintain regulatory, correspondence and query binders for individual studies. Order and stock sufficient quantities of office supplies and lab kits for individual studies, logs temperatures for drug storage room, refrigerator and freezer. Assist with screening and follow up evaluations for subjects enrolled in clinical trials, assuring compliance of study protocol. Assist Clinical Research Coordinator(s) in screening EHR for potential trial subjects.

The Clinical Research Assistant will understand the importance/impact of data integrity regarding honest reporting of sensitive and confidential patient information. Will adhere to guidelines regarding the sensitivity and confidential nature of patient information. Exercise good judgment, tact, and sensitivity at all times. Work independently and under the direction of the study coordinator(s) to ensure successful completion of the clinical research study. Learn and follow all study procedures and protocols. Qualifications:

· One to two years experience in a medical office, preferably in a research department

· Working knowledge of practice management systems, word processing, spreadsheet and scheduling applications

· Professional and courteous phone skills

· Ability to work on several projects simultaneously

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Comfort working in a medical/clinical setting

· Understanding/familiarity with medical terminology preferred

· Phlebotomy skills preferred

This is a full time position, Monday-Friday, hours generally from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No weekend or on call hours. Excellent compensation and comprehensive benefit package. Please respond with a copy of your resume.
