Research Assistant Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a research assistant job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's three dominant hiring sectors: academic medical centers and hospital systems in the Medical District, university-affiliated research programs near Uptown and the Park Cities, and private biotech and clinical research organizations scattered across the Stemmons Corridor. Tailoring your application to lab-based or data-heavy roles, depending on your background, gives you a concrete edge in a market that values specialization over generalist credentials.
Which companies hire research assistants in Dallas?
Dallas research assistant roles are posted by UT Southwestern Medical Center, Tiger Analytics, and PwC and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. The local market is particularly deep in health systems, academic research institutes, and contract research organizations with offices in and around the Medical District.
Are there remote research assistant jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though it depends heavily on the role: hands-on lab and clinical positions are almost always on-site, while literature review, data analysis, and survey research positions are frequently remote. About 5% of research assistant openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the highest remote share found in social science, policy, and market research roles based in downtown Dallas offices.
How can I get a research assistant job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through the university-affiliated research programs at UT Southwestern Medical Center or Southern Methodist University, both of which regularly hire junior research coordinators and lab assistants with no prior professional experience. Contract research organizations in the Stemmons Corridor also hire entry-level data collectors and study coordinators. Volunteer or internship experience in any research setting, even unpaid, is the single strongest differentiator for first-time applicants in this market.
Which industries hire the most research assistants in Dallas?
Dallas research assistant roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Agriculture & Farming, and Consulting & Professional Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's outsized healthcare infrastructure, anchored by UT Southwestern and Parkland Health, combined with its growing presence in financial services research and market analytics, makes those sectors the consistent drivers of local hiring volume.
