- Operation of Next-Generation sequencers and other instruments for genomic research.
- Quality control of DNA and RNA samples.
- Sample receiving, tracking, and management.
- Preparation of sequencing libraries using molecular biology techniques.
- Performing tests on new methods and protocols under the supervisor’s guidance.
- Training users and other staff on shared instruments.
- Other lab tasks as assigned.
- Strong experience in general modern molecular biology techniques.
- At least 1 year of experience in molecular biology, cell biology, or other life science fields.
- Ability to work well with others in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain a meticulous laboratory notebook.
- Excellent customer service skills.
Required education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in biological sciences or related field.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with Illumina and/or PacBio Sequencers, as well as tissue sectioning.
- Experience with teaching or training others in a laboratory setting.
- Experience working in a technology core facility.
