Job Summary

The Field-Based Clinical Research Coordinator will support a Phase II clinical study within the neurodegenerative research space while operating a mobile research unit. This role will assist with study-specific procedures and assessments and support participant recruitment efforts by developing relationships with community-based care facilities, healthcare clinics, and healthcare providers. The position is primarily field-based (approximately 75%) within the Collier County area, with the remaining time spent working remotely from a home office when not traveling.

Duties

• Support the implementation of assigned clinical research protocols in accordance with study requirements, Good Clinical Practice (GCP), applicable regulations, and organizational policies and procedures.
• Conduct study visits and protocol-required assessments on a Mobile Research Unit and, when appropriate, at designated community-based, healthcare, or partner locations.
• Recruit, educate, and prescreen potential study participants through community outreach, educational initiatives, healthcare provider referrals, care facility partnerships, and other approved recruitment activities.
• Register potential participants for prescreening and provide accurate study-related information in accordance with approved recruitment materials and procedures.
• Obtain informed consent when delegated and appropriately trained, ensuring participants and/or legally authorized representatives understand study requirements and have the opportunity to ask questions.
• Conduct protocol-required clinical and research procedures, which may include collecting medical histories, performing health assessments, obtaining vital signs, conducting study-specific evaluations, and completing other delegated assessments.
• Perform phlebotomy and specimen collection in accordance with study protocols, laboratory manuals, and applicable standards.
• Prepare collection supplies and kits; collect, process, label, store, and ship specimens according to established procedures.
• Verify participant identity and ensure accurate completion of specimen labels, requisitions, and associated documentation.
• Recognize abnormal or unexpected findings and escalate concerns to appropriate clinical or research personnel in accordance with study and organizational procedures.
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely source documentation, study records, and electronic data capture (EDC) entries.
• Ensure consistent execution of protocol requirements and adherence to quality control and quality assurance procedures.
• Maintain participant confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy and data protection requirements.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid drivers license and be able to operate the mobile research unit.
• Advanced degree highly preferred (MD, PhD, PharmD, MSN, BSN, LCSW, MPH, etc.)
• Prior experience in clinical research, clinical care, behavioral health, geriatrics, neurology, psychiatry, Alzheimer's disease, or related fields required.
• Ability to establish rapport and build trusted relationships with participants, caregivers, healthcare providers, Assisted Living Facility staff, and community partners.
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a mobile/community-based environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules, locations, and study requirements.
• Professional demeanor and ability to represent the organization effectively in community and healthcare settings.
• Ability to maintain accurate documentation and meet study timelines.

Pay: $80,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year
