Risk Management Analyst Jobs in Delaware: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a risk management analyst in Delaware?
Most risk management analyst roles in Delaware require a bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related discipline as the baseline entry point. Delaware does not issue a state-specific license for risk management analysts, but employers in the state's large financial services sector strongly prefer candidates who hold the Financial Risk Manager credential from GARP or the Professional Risk Manager designation from PRMIA. Gaining experience in audit, compliance, or financial analysis roles at Delaware-based institutions is the most practical path into the field.
How much do risk management analysts make in Delaware?
Risk management analysts in Delaware earn a median of about $139,440 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $80,810 for the lowest 10% to over $178,570 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire risk management analysts in Delaware?
Employers hiring risk management analysts in Delaware right now include JPMorganChase, WSFS Bank, and Artisans' Bank, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of October 2026. Delaware's concentration of corporate headquarters and financial services firms, particularly in and around Wilmington, makes it one of the more active states for this role.
Which Delaware cities have the most risk management analyst jobs?
Wilmington, Lewes, and Newark account for the largest share of risk management analyst openings in Delaware. Wilmington drives the majority of postings because of its dense cluster of bank headquarters, credit card issuers, and corporate legal entities, while Newark and Dover add openings through university-affiliated employers, state agencies, and mid-size financial and pharmaceutical operations.
Are there remote risk management analyst jobs in Delaware?
Yes, and more than most fields. About 20% of risk management analyst openings tied to Delaware are remote or hybrid as of October 2026, reflecting the desk-based and analytical nature of the work. Modeling, reporting, and policy-development tasks travel well to remote settings, while roles requiring close coordination with trading desks or on-site audits tend to remain in-office.
How can I get hired as a risk management analyst in Delaware with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is targeting financial analyst, internal audit associate, or compliance analyst roles at Delaware's major financial institutions, which regularly hire recent graduates and provide structured rotational programs. JPMorgan Chase and other large Wilmington-based banks run analyst development programs that build risk skills on the job. Earning the FRM Part I exam or completing relevant coursework in risk modeling strengthens a resume considerably. The University of Delaware's business programs also have recruiting relationships with state employers that can open doors before graduation.
