Entry Level Safety Specialist Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level safety specialist job?
Focus on OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification, which many employers treat as a baseline credential for entry level candidates. Internship experience, even a single semester in a manufacturing or construction environment, strengthens your application significantly. Tailor your resume to highlight incident reporting, hazard identification, or safety audit work from coursework or volunteer roles, and emphasize any hands-on fieldwork.
Which companies hire entry level safety specialists?
Companies hiring entry level safety specialists right now include Kiewit, Riverside Healthcare, and Rosendin Electric, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Hiring at this level tends to come from large industrial employers, government contractors, staffing firms placing safety talent in manufacturing plants, and construction companies required to maintain dedicated safety staff on active job sites.
Are there remote entry level safety specialist jobs?
Yes, though most entry level safety specialist roles are on-site by nature. About 1% of entry level safety specialist openings are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and these typically involve safety program coordination, documentation, or compliance work rather than field inspections. Fully remote roles at this level are less common but do appear in larger corporate safety departments.
Are these new grad safety specialist jobs?
Yes, many of these openings are new grad and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience. A posting is generally new-grad friendly when it lists internship experience or relevant coursework as acceptable substitutes for full-time work history, or when it offers on-the-job training. Recent graduates with a safety-related degree and an OSHA certification are competitive applicants for these positions.
Which industries hire the most entry level safety specialists?
Entry Level safety specialist roles concentrate in Healthcare & Medical Services, Energy, and Education, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Those sectors drive hiring at this level because regulatory requirements, insurance obligations, and the physical nature of the work create consistent demand for dedicated safety personnel even at the junior stage of a candidate's career.
