We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Specialist to champion our commitment to workplace safety, environmental compliance, and regulatory standards. In this vital role, you will develop, implement, and oversee the safety programs that promote a safe working environment for all employees. You will ensure adherence to environmental management systems and regulatory requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in occupational health and environmental health practices. Your expertise will help us maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials regulations, and workers' compensation laws while supporting employee training and development initiatives.
Duties
- Conduct regular safety audits, hazard assessments, root cause analyses, and workplace inspections to identify risks and implement corrective actions.
- Lead new hire safety training sessions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety incidents, report writing, injury investigations, and compliance documentation.
- Collaborate with management to develop workplace safety initiatives that reduce incidents and promote employee health through regulatory compliance standards.
- Stay current on environmental health legislation including environmental regulatory compliance, workers' compensation law, and occupational health standards to ensure ongoing adherence.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in manufacturing or industrial settings with a strong understanding of workplace safety protocols.
- Certifications in first aid, CPR, OSHA safety regulations, environmental management systems (EMS), and hazardous materials regulations are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of environmental regulatory compliance standards such as EPA guidelines and OSHA safety regulations.
- Excellent communication skills for delivering training & development programs and preparing detailed reports.
- Bilingual Skills in Spanish preferred.
