Sales Development Manager Jobs in Boston: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales development manager job in Boston?
Focus your search on the Seaport District and Back Bay, where SaaS platforms, healthtech companies, and financial services firms concentrate their sales leadership hiring. Experience managing outbound SDR teams and familiarity with tools like Salesforce or Outreach gives candidates a clear edge in Boston's market. Targeting mid-stage startup employers in the innovation corridor around Kendall Square and along the Route 128 corridor also opens strong opportunities.
Which companies hire sales development managers in Boston?
Employers hiring sales development managers in Boston right now include Delinea, Axon, and Formlabs, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Boston's hiring mix skews toward venture-backed SaaS companies, established financial services firms, and life sciences organizations with commercial teams.
Are there remote sales development manager jobs in Boston?
Yes, though many sales development manager roles require in-office presence for team coaching and pipeline reviews, particularly at earlier-stage companies. About 73% of sales development manager openings tied to Boston are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, with flexibility most common in the strategic and analytical parts of the role. Larger enterprise employers in the Seaport and Financial District tend to offer the most structured hybrid arrangements.
How can I get a sales development manager job in Boston with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving up from an SDR or account executive role at one of Boston's many growth-stage SaaS or healthtech companies, where internal promotions into management are common. Companies in Kendall Square and the Seaport frequently hire SDR team leads as a stepping stone to manager titles. Building a record of quota achievement and mentoring junior reps while in a contributor role makes the strongest case to Boston hiring managers.
