Sales Engineer Jobs in Philadelphia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales engineer job in Philadelphia?
Focus your search on Philadelphia's strongest hiring sectors: industrial and process automation firms clustered in the Navy Yard and Port Richmond, life sciences and medical device companies anchored in University City and King of Prussia, and enterprise software vendors headquartered downtown. Candidates who combine a technical degree with consultative selling skills stand out. Networking through local manufacturing associations and hospital system procurement events gives you a real edge in this market.
Which companies hire sales engineers in Philadelphia?
Companies currently hiring sales engineers in Philadelphia include Samsara, PEI-Genesis, and EAB, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Philadelphia's mix of legacy industrials, research-driven healthcare systems, and a growing tech corridor means hiring comes from both large established companies and well-funded scale-ups.
Are there remote sales engineer jobs in Philadelphia?
Yes, though the role is hybrid more often than fully remote, since product demonstrations and on-site client visits are a core part of the job for most Philadelphia employers. About 86% of sales engineer openings tied to Philadelphia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, skewing toward software and SaaS positions. On-site and field days are most common for industrial, lab equipment, and medical device roles.
How can I get a sales engineer job in Philadelphia with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Philadelphia is moving from a technical support or field service role into a junior sales engineer or sales development position. Philadelphia's medical device and lab instrumentation companies regularly hire candidates with clinical or lab backgrounds for customer-facing technical roles, and its manufacturing sector promotes field service technicians who show client-facing aptitude. Pursuing certifications relevant to your target industry and volunteering for product demonstration work in your current role accelerates the transition.
