Sales Jobs in Indianapolis: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a sales job in Indianapolis?
Focus your search on Indianapolis's strongest hiring sectors: life sciences and medical devices anchored along the North Meridian corridor, B2B technology firms concentrated Downtown and in Keystone Crossing, and manufacturing and logistics companies spread through the metro's industrial parks. Candidates who show consultative selling skills and familiarity with longer enterprise sales cycles stand out here. Networking through local chambers and industry groups in Indianapolis also opens doors that cold applications often don't.
Which companies hire saless in Indianapolis?
Employers hiring saless in Indianapolis right now include Elanco, ADP, and Petco, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's employer mix leans heavily toward healthcare and life sciences companies, regional financial services firms, and mid-market B2B technology outfits, many of which maintain dedicated inside and outside sales teams.
Are there remote sales jobs in Indianapolis?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: field and territory sales positions almost always require in-person client work, while inside sales, account management, and sales operations roles are more commonly remote-eligible. About 36% of sales openings tied to Indianapolis are remote or hybrid as of September 2026. Inside sales and SaaS account executive roles in Indianapolis's tech sector tend to offer the most remote flexibility.
How can I get a sales job in Indianapolis with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point in Indianapolis is an inside sales representative or sales development representative role, which many of the city's life sciences distributors, technology firms, and financial services companies use as a training ground. Employers in Indianapolis's growing health-tech and B2B software segments regularly hire candidates without prior sales experience if they can demonstrate strong communication skills and a willingness to work structured outbound pipelines. Completing a short sales methodology course and highlighting any customer-facing retail or service experience sharpens your application.
Which industries hire the most saless in Indianapolis?
Most sales openings in Indianapolis sit in Automotive and Medical Devices, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indianapolis's standing as a national hub for pharmaceutical and medical device companies, combined with a growing technology sector and deep roots in manufacturing and logistics, keeps demand for sales professionals consistently high across those fields.
