Regional Sales Manager Jobs in Indiana: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a regional sales manager in Indiana?
Most regional sales managers in Indiana move into the role after several years in individual contributor sales, typically in B2B or territory-based positions within manufacturing, healthcare, or distribution companies. Indiana does not require a state-issued license for sales management roles. Employers generally expect a bachelor's degree and a record of meeting quota, with internal promotions or lateral moves from senior account executive or territory manager roles being the most common path.
How much do regional sales managers make in Indiana?
Regional sales managers in Indiana earn a median of about $131,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $69,570 for the lowest 10% to over $231,350 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire regional sales managers in Indiana?
Employers hiring regional sales managers in Indiana right now include Blufox Mobile, Wash and roll, and Fives, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Indiana's concentration of manufacturers, medical device companies, and agricultural equipment suppliers means regional sales management roles are spread well beyond Indianapolis into mid-size markets like Fort Wayne and Columbus.
Which Indiana cities have the most regional sales manager jobs?
Indianapolis, Shipshewana, and Indiana account for the largest share of regional sales manager openings in Indiana. Indianapolis dominates because it serves as the corporate headquarters for major employers in pharmaceutical, medical device, and technology distribution, while Fort Wayne and Evansville draw openings from the manufacturing and agricultural equipment companies that operate large Midwest sales territories from those hubs.
Are there remote regional sales manager jobs in Indiana?
Yes, though they are less common than in purely desk-based roles because regional sales managers are typically expected to travel within their territory and meet clients in person. About 77% of regional sales manager openings tied to Indiana are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, which tends to reflect roles where the manager oversees a remote team rather than a hands-on field territory. Fully remote positions are most common in SaaS and software distribution verticals.
How can I get hired as a regional sales manager in Indiana with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is to build two to three years as a territory sales representative or account executive at an Indiana manufacturer or distributor, then move into a team lead or senior rep role before applying for management. Companies like Cummins and Zimmer Biomet run structured sales development programs that progress high performers into leadership. A strong individual quota record and experience mentoring newer reps are the credentials Indiana hiring managers weigh most heavily when evaluating first-time managers.
Where can I find and apply to regional sales manager jobs in Indiana?
You can find and apply to regional sales manager jobs in Indiana on Migrate Mate, which lists current Indiana openings across industries including manufacturing, medical devices, logistics, and technology distribution. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your territory experience and industry background, and apply directly to the listings that fit your profile.
