Sales Floor Lead — Cannabis Retail
Job Title: Sales Floor Lead
Department: Retail / Sales
Reports To: General Manager
Employment Type: Full-Time
Location: Fountain Superstore
Compensation: $18 per hour + tips
Position Summary
The Sales Floor Lead is responsible for supporting the daily operations of the dispensary sales floor while providing exceptional customer service and leading the retail team by example. This position serves as a key point of contact between budtenders, management, and customers, helping ensure an efficient, compliant, professional, and welcoming retail environment.
The Sales Floor Lead assists management with opening and closing procedures, staff coaching, customer escalations, inventory and merchandising standards, cash-handling procedures, and compliance with company policies and applicable Colorado cannabis regulations.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead and support Sales Associates during daily sales-floor operations.
- Provide exceptional customer service and help create a knowledgeable, welcoming experience for customers.
- Assist customers with product selection by providing accurate information regarding cannabis products, formats, potency, intended use, and responsible consumption.
- Ensure all customer interactions comply with applicable age-verification, purchase-limit, and cannabis-sales requirements.
- Support the management team in maintaining compliance with Colorado MED regulations and company policies.
- Monitor the sales floor to ensure proper staffing, workflow, cleanliness, organization, and presentation.
- Assist with opening and closing procedures, including securing the facility and completing required checklists.
- Act as the first point of escalation for customer concerns and resolve issues professionally within established guidelines.
- Coach and mentor Sales Associates on product knowledge, customer service, sales techniques, compliance, and company standards.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Communicate daily priorities, promotions, operational updates, and management directives to the sales team.
- Help maintain accurate product displays, pricing, signage, menus, and promotional materials.
- Assist with inventory counts, product organization, receiving, stocking, and inventory discrepancies as directed.
- Follow all cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures, including drawer counts and transaction accuracy.
- Monitor sales transactions for accuracy and address discrepancies according to company policy.
- Maintain a clean, organized, professional, and compliant sales floor.
- Assist management with identifying operational issues and implementing solutions.
- Help ensure employees follow dress code, attendance, conduct, safety, and workplace policies.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding company operations, customers, employees, inventory, sales, and other sensitive information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications
Required:
- Must meet all applicable Colorado and local requirements for working in the regulated cannabis industry.
- Must be at least 21 years of age, where required by applicable law and licensing requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain any required occupational licensing or employee credentials.
- Previous retail, hospitality, cannabis, or customer-service experience.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Ability to handle cash accurately and responsibly.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
- Ability to maintain professionalism when dealing with difficult or escalated customer situations.
- Basic computer and point-of-sale system proficiency.
- Ability to work flexible retail hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Cannabis Industry Experience
Preferred candidates will have:
- Previous dispensary or cannabis retail experience.
- Strong knowledge of cannabis products and consumption methods.
- Familiarity with Colorado cannabis regulations and MED compliance.
- Experience with cannabis POS and inventory systems.
- Understanding of responsible cannabis sales and customer education.
- Knowledge of product categories such as flower, pre-rolls, concentrates, edibles, beverages, tinctures, topicals, and other regulated products.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during a shift.
