ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior IT Security Analyst is responsible for identifying risks, responding to threats, and partnering with teams across the organization to ensure our systems and data remain secure, reliable, and compliant. The ideal candidate brings a practical, solutions-oriented approach and is comfortable working in a fast-moving, business-driven environment.
- Monitors, investigates, and responds to security events across enterprise and cloud environments
- Designs and implements security controls for cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Assesses and identifies API security weaknesses and recommend solutions
- Assesses risk and identifies vulnerabilities in applications, infrastructure, and AI-related systems
- Supports incident response activities, including root cause analysis and remediation
- Partners with engineering, infrastructure, and business teams to integrate security into day-to-day operations
- Contributes to the development and maintenance of security policies, standards, and procedures
- Evaluates and improves security tools and processes, including SIEM, endpoint protection, and cloud security solutions
- Assists in securing data and AI-enabled applications, ensuring proper access controls and data protection
- Stays informed on evolving threats and recommend practical improvements to reduce risk
- Mentors junior team members and promote a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Performs other related duties to benefit the mission/vision of the organization
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity, with hands-on experience in cloud environments
- Strong understanding of core security principles, including network security, identity and access management, and data protection
- Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Familiarity with security monitoring and response tools (AWS Security Hub, Crowdstrike, Rapid7 or similar solutions)
- Ability to assess risk and communicate findings clearly to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders
- Experience working in a collaborative environment where security is a shared responsibility
- Working knowledge of how AI/ML systems are built and where security risks may arise
- Awareness of risks such as data exposure, model integrity, and misuse of AI-driven tools
- Experience supporting or securing modern application environments, including APIs, containers, or cloud-native services
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience
- Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or cloud security certifications
- Cloud specific certifications – AWS Professional or Specialty level preferred
- Experience with scripting or automation (Python, PowerShell, or similar)
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory standards
