Establish meaningful metrics to measure control effectiveness, remediation progress, and overall program maturity.
Embed security controls into software delivery and cloud engineering workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and pre-deployment validation.
Partner with engineering teams to implement secure-by-design practices and preventative controls such as secrets protection, vulnerability gating, and policy enforcement.
Promote automation and integration of security tooling to improve detection, prioritization, and remediation workflows.
Lead risk identification, prioritization, and remediation planning for assigned platforms and services.
Support internal audits, external assessments, regulatory reviews, and client assurance activities.
Maintain documentation, control evidence, and implementation artifacts that are clear, defensible, and audit ready.
Skills and attributes for success
Oversee implementation of security controls across cloud infrastructure, identity, application, and workload environments.
Drive continuous monitoring and risk visibility for vulnerabilities, misconfigurations, and control gaps.
Serve as a key interface across Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and Information Security teams.
Drive alignment on priorities, governance, and remediation strategies across multiple stakeholders.
To qualify for the role, you must have

Master's degree preferred
8–12+ years of experience in Information Security, Cloud Security, Security Architecture, or a related field.

Demonstrated experience designing and operationalizing enterprise or platform security programs.
Strong understanding of cloud security principles, with experience in Azure or comparable cloud environments.
Experience working with audit, compliance, or regulatory frameworks in complex enterprise environments.
Experience embedding security into DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Familiarity with integrated security tooling across areas such as SAST, DAST, SCA, container security, CNAPP, and workflow or remediation platforms.
Experience establishing measurable security outcomes such as vulnerability reduction, SLA performance, backlog trends, and control of health metrics.
Background in highly regulated industries or client-facing assurance environments.
Experience building closed-loop remediation processes from issue detection through validation and reporting.
Ideally, you’ll have
Ability to understand and learn tax and technology implications at a high level
Excellent organizational and project management skills as well as the ability to multitask on various projects in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work and team effectively with clients and high-level leadership personnel as well as influence all team members.

Security Architect Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a security architect job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's three strongest hiring pockets: financial services firms in Uptown and the Arts District, defense and government contractors concentrated in the Telecom Corridor and Plano, and large healthcare systems headquartered across the Metroplex. Candidates with cloud security certifications such as CISSP or CCSP and hands-on experience with zero-trust architecture stand out in this market. Networking through local ISACA Dallas and InfraGard chapters also opens doors that job boards alone won't.
Which companies hire security architects in Dallas?
Companies currently hiring security architects in Dallas include Amazon Web Services, GEICO, and Equinix, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas attracts a wide mix of large enterprise employers, regional banks, managed security service providers, and major hospital networks, all of which maintain in-house security architecture teams.
Are there remote security architect jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though remote availability depends heavily on the role. Security architect work that involves policy development, cloud architecture review, and vendor assessment tends to be remote-friendly, while roles requiring data center access or government clearance are almost always on-site. About 55% of security architect openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the remote share concentrated in financial services and technology employers rather than defense contractors.
How can I get a security architect job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is moving laterally from a network engineer or systems administrator role into a junior security position at one of the city's many managed security service providers or mid-size regional banks, which tend to hire and develop early-career candidates more actively than large enterprises. Earning a Security+ or associate-level CISSP endorsement before applying significantly strengthens your case. Dallas-area community colleges and Collin College also offer cybersecurity programs with employer partnerships worth pursuing.
Which industries hire the most security architects in Dallas?
Most security architect openings in Dallas sit in Technology & Software, Distribution & Wholesale, and Insurance, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Dallas's role as a major financial hub, its dense concentration of defense and aerospace contractors in the northern suburbs, and the presence of large hospital systems all create sustained, year-round demand for security architecture talent.
