Position Summary:
The Associate Cybersecurity Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the development and implementation of effective cybersecurity measures to protect the organization's digital assets. Working closely with the cybersecurity team, as well as assisting in the maintenance and enhancement of security controls. The Associate Cybersecurity Engineer contributes to maintaining a secure environment and minimizing potential risks through proactive security measures.
What you will do:
Security Controls Implementation and Maintenance:
- Assist in implementation and maintaining cybersecurity controls.
- Contribute to the management and maintenance of security tools and technologies, ensuring optimal performance and effectiveness.
- Participate in security audits and assessments, providing support and documentation as required.
Risk Mitigation and Compliance:
- Assist in identifying security risks and vulnerabilities, and recommend risk mitigation strategies and solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest cybersecurity threats, trends, and best practices incorporating them into risk management strategies.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of security policies, procedures, and guidelines to align with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Security Awareness and Training:
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to provide security awareness training and education, promoting a culture of cybersecurity awareness and best practices.

Assist in developing educational materials and resources to enhance employees’ understanding of cybersecurity threats and preventive measures.

Support other cybersecurity initiatives and projects as assigned.
When you will work:
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Hybrid schedule, 4 days in office in Wyoming, MI with 1 day remote
What you'll bring to the table:
- Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field preferred.
- CompTIA Security+, Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), or ISC(2) Certified in CyberSecurity (CC) certifications preferred.
- One to three years previous related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, internship in cybersecurity and experience required.
- Fundamental understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices and technologies.
- Knowledge of common cybersecurity frameworks and standards, such as NIST or CIS Controls.
- Familiarity with network protocols, systems, and architectures.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risk.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey technical concepts effectively.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently with minimal supervision.
- Must have good customer service and time management skills.
- Ability to develop solutions to a variety of complex problems, and reference established precedents and policies.
