Security Engineering Manager Jobs in Arkansas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a security engineering manager in Arkansas?
Arkansas does not require a state-issued license to work as a security engineering manager, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most hiring organizations expect a bachelor's degree in computer science, cybersecurity, or information systems, followed by several years in hands-on security engineering roles before moving into management. Industry certifications like CISSP or CISM carry significant weight with Arkansas employers and effectively serve as the professional benchmark for senior security leadership roles.
How much do security engineering managers make in Arkansas?
Security engineering managers in Arkansas earn a median of about $86,940 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $45,770 for the lowest 10% to over $135,140 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire security engineering managers in Arkansas?
Companies currently hiring security engineering managers in Arkansas include Walmart, Dillard's, and Allied Universal, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Arkansas's mix of large retail headquarters, regional healthcare systems, and defense contractors creates consistent demand for security leadership across multiple sectors.
Which Arkansas cities have the most security engineering manager jobs?
Bentonville, Little Rock, and Arkansas account for the largest share of security engineering manager openings in Arkansas. Little Rock anchors demand through state government agencies, healthcare systems, and financial institutions, while the Fayetteville and Bentonville corridor is driven heavily by Walmart's global technology operations and the dense network of retail-sector vendors and suppliers that have established offices nearby.
Are there remote security engineering manager jobs in Arkansas?
Yes, and more than most fields. Security engineering management is a desk-based, analytical, and leadership-oriented discipline, which makes it well-suited to remote and hybrid arrangements. About 32% of security engineering manager openings tied to Arkansas are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting broader technology industry norms. Strategic and compliance-focused responsibilities tend to be the most remote-compatible, while roles overseeing on-premises infrastructure or physical security operations more often require an on-site presence.
How can I get hired as a security engineering manager in Arkansas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is lateral movement from a senior individual-contributor security role, such as security analyst, systems engineer, or network security engineer, into a team lead or project lead position before stepping into full management. Large Arkansas technology employers and healthcare systems like Baptist Health and Arkansas Blue Cross Blue Shield periodically hire associate-level security professionals into structured development tracks. Earning a CISSP or CompTIA Security+ credential and building a portfolio of documented security projects strengthens a candidate's case considerably when formal management experience is limited.
Where can I find and apply to security engineering manager jobs in Arkansas?
You can find and apply to security engineering manager jobs in Arkansas on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, identify the ones that match your background and goals, and apply directly to whichever listings fit.
