You’ll assess system designs for cybersecurity posture, conduct testing and risk analysis across system and component layers, and translate findings into actionable architectural and testing improvements. This role sits at the intersection of system engineering and cyber defense, directly supporting the Navy’s mission to maintain affordable, credible strategic defense.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate systems and designs to determine cybersecurity characteristics and identify gaps
- Plan and execute cybersecurity testing and risk analysis at the system and component level
- Communicate assessment results, trends, and recommendations to program stakeholders and cross‑functional teams
- Provide input to system architecture, security design reviews, and mitigation strategies
- Assist in developing and refining test plans that address System Security Engineering (SSE) requirements
Qualifications
- Foundational understanding of system and component functionality within a defense or aerospace context
- Familiarity with cybersecurity requirements, architectures, and relevant frameworks (e.g., NIST SP 800‑53, DoD Risk Management Framework)
- Proven experience working in a testing, evaluation, or assessment environment
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to translate technical findings for diverse audiences

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Systems Engineering or a related field
- Experience in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Power Point
- Ability to research and analyze problems
- Proficient in written and oral communications
- Possess or willing to obtain Information Assurance Technical Level 2 Certification or higher (i.e., CompTia Security+)
- Active Secret Clearance, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Clearance; US Citizenship

Full-Time Salary Range: $135700.00 - $251900.00
