DESCRIPTION
GTPC Tech is an AWS Security team developing services used by internal compliance teams to enable the international flow of AWS’s hardware, software, services, and technology. Through (i) self-service management of data, automation, and analytics, and (ii) integrations with supply chain systems, our solutions help AWS keep pace with rapidly expanding compliance obligations driven by regional expansion, evolving regulations, new hardware development, and shifting compliance responsibilities.
We're looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer (SDE) who will provide key technical leadership on the team responsible for GTPC Tech's foundational services, which house compliance data (e.g., part classifications, requirements, evidence of compliance) and integrations with upstream and downstream systems. In this role, you will lead the design and development of capabilities that build upon these services to enable our customers to rapidly scale their capacity, through automation (both rule-based and AI-driven), streamlined user workflows, and innovative solutions that simplify and standardize bespoke business processes.

To succeed in this role, you believe in high standards for code quality, code reviews, testing, and operational excellence. Security Software Engineer Jobs in Seattle: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a security software engineer job in Seattle?
Target Seattle's dominant hiring sectors: cloud and enterprise software companies in South Lake Union, aerospace and defense contractors along the Eastside, and healthcare technology firms throughout the metro. Hands-on experience with cloud security platforms, threat modeling, and compliance frameworks like FedRAMP and SOC 2 stands out locally. Engaging with Seattle's strong tech community through local meetups and open-source contributions also gives candidates a concrete edge.
Which companies hire security software engineers in Seattle?
Seattle security software engineer roles are posted by Amazon, Amazon Web Services, and Apple and others right now, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's employer mix ranges from global tech giants and cloud platform providers to mid-size defense contractors and fast-growing cybersecurity startups anchored in the Puget Sound region.
Are there remote security software engineer jobs in Seattle?
Yes, though availability depends heavily on the role: application security, code review, and policy-focused positions tend to be remote-friendly, while positions tied to classified systems or on-site infrastructure are almost always in person. About 38% of security software engineer openings tied to Seattle are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with cloud security and compliance roles making up the largest share of those flexible arrangements.
How can I get a security software engineer job in Seattle with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Seattle is through a junior or associate software engineering role at a mid-size tech company, then moving laterally into a security-focused team. Seattle employers in cloud infrastructure and SaaS commonly hire entry-level engineers into security rotations. Earning a recognized certification like CompTIA Security+ or AWS Security Specialty, contributing to open-source security tooling, and targeting Seattle's growing cybersecurity startup scene all strengthen an entry-level application meaningfully.
Which industries hire the most security software engineers in Seattle?
Most security software engineer openings in Seattle sit in Technology & Software, Retail, and E-Commerce & Online Marketplaces, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Seattle's position as a global hub for cloud computing and its concentration of aerospace and defense contractors create sustained, year-round demand that differs noticeably from other major tech markets.
