Senior Control Engineer Jobs in Dallas: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a senior control engineer job in Dallas?
Focus your search on Dallas's energy, oil and gas, water treatment, and industrial automation sectors, which drive the most consistent hiring for senior control engineers locally. Employers in Irving, Plano, and along the I-635 corridor tend to run the largest teams. Hands-on PLC and SCADA experience with systems common in petrochemical and utilities environments gives candidates a clear edge in this market.
Which companies hire senior control engineers in Dallas?
Employers hiring senior control engineers in Dallas right now include Hatch, Shield AI, and Graymatter, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas attracts a mix of large energy firms, engineering and technical services contractors, and water infrastructure operators, all of which maintain ongoing demand for experienced control engineering talent.
Are there remote senior control engineer jobs in Dallas?
Yes, though senior control engineer roles are predominantly on-site given the hands-on nature of PLC programming, panel commissioning, and systems integration. About 41% of senior control engineer openings tied to Dallas are remote or hybrid as of September 2026, and those positions tend to focus on control system design, documentation, or project engineering rather than field work.
How can I get a senior control engineer job in Dallas with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path in Dallas is through a junior controls or automation technician role with an engineering services firm or systems integrator in the Irving or Plano area, where mentorship under senior engineers is common. Gaining certified experience on Allen-Bradley or Siemens platforms, then stepping into a controls engineer role before pursuing senior-level work, is the progression most Dallas employers expect.
Which industries hire the most senior control engineers in Dallas?
Most senior control engineer openings in Dallas sit in Aerospace & Defense and Electronics & Hardware, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of September 2026. Dallas's role as a regional hub for energy infrastructure, water utilities, and industrial manufacturing makes those sectors the primary and most stable sources of senior control engineering work in the metro.
