Team Overview
Our Product team leads the direction, coordination, output, quality, and enhancements to PowerSchool’s product portfolio. This dynamic, multi-functional team ensures the effective rollout of new products across the platform, packages and positions products to appeal to consumers, and helps set the future direction and pace of innovation in our organization.
Responsibilities
The Senior Director, Product Strategy is a senior leader within PowerSchool's Product Management organization, responsible for defining and driving go-to-market strategy, product positioning, and cross-functional initiatives for key product lines. This role sits at the intersection of product, sales, marketing, and professional services — bringing cohesion to how PowerSchool's products are packaged, priced, and delivered to market.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and own the multi-year product strategy for analytics product lines
- Lead SKU rationalization, product composition, and pricing initiatives across the portfolio
- Develop and maintain product roadmap with clear prioritization and stakeholder sign-off
- Conduct competitive analysis and build cross-block (X-block) positioning against key competitors
Go-To-Market Execution
- Lead GTM planning including launch strategy, sales enablement, and market entry for new states and international markets
- Build and maintain sales tools including pitch decks, digital sales rooms, and decision trees
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Solution Consulting teams to drive pipeline growth and conversion
- Analyze GovSpend data, expiring contracts, and closed-lost opportunities to identify growth targets
Cross-Functional Leadership
- Lead and facilitate Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meetings, setting agenda, tracking action items, and driving accountability
- Collaborate with Professional Services on implementation scoping, customer onboarding, and deployment SOPs
- Partner with Support and Technical teams to improve customer post-sale experience and adoption
- Coordinate international channel partner strategy and engagement
Data & Analysis
- Run quantitative analyses on customer performance, attrition, and expansions
- Build and maintain Excel models to support business cases and strategic recommendations
- Develop acquisition target lists and pipeline reports to inform sales strategy
Stakeholder Communication
- Present strategic updates and critical initiative reviews to executive leadership team
- Produce clear, concise documentation including transition plans, strategy decks, and roadmap materials
- Serve as a key connector between product, sales, and services leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of experience in product management, product strategy, or a related field
- Proven track record leading cross-functional go-to-market initiatives for B2B SaaS products
- Strong analytical skills with experience in data modeling, pipeline analysis, and competitive research
- Experience working with K–12 education technology or public sector software is a plus
- Exceptional communication and executive presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple high-priority workstreams simultaneously
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
- Familiarity with Student Information Systems (SIS) or EdTech product ecosystems
- Experience with Business Intelligence tools and other advanced analytics applications a plus
- Experience with international market expansion or channel partner programs
- Proficiency with tools such as Salesforce, Atlassian (Jira/Confluence), and Microsoft Office/SharePoint

A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this position is $150,700 - $207,200 USD. This compensation range is specific to the United States and it incorporates many factors including but not limited to an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience and training; licensures, degrees, and certifications; internal equity; internal pay ranges; and market data/range parameters.
