Senior Director Strategic Partnerships Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior director strategic partnerships in California?
Reaching a senior director strategic partnerships role in California typically follows a path from account management, sales, or business development into dedicated partnership roles, then upward through manager and director levels. No state license governs the role, but hiring managers in California's competitive technology and healthcare sectors expect an MBA or equivalent advanced degree alongside a clear record of building revenue-generating alliances. Targeting companies headquartered in the Bay Area or Los Angeles that run formal leadership development programs accelerates the progression significantly.
Which companies hire senior director strategic partnershipss in California?
Employers hiring senior director strategic partnershipss in California right now include Airwallex, Alvarez & Marsal, and Reddit, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's concentration of enterprise technology headquarters and large integrated health systems means the pipeline of openings at this seniority level stays consistently active throughout the year.
Which California cities have the most senior director strategic partnerships jobs?
The California cities with the most senior director strategic partnerships openings are San Francisco, San Jose, and Los Angeles. San Francisco leads because of its dense concentration of enterprise software and cloud platform headquarters, Los Angeles draws volume from media, streaming, and healthtech companies, and San Diego reflects the strong biotech and defense-adjacent partner ecosystem anchored by firms with large campuses in the region.
Are there remote senior director strategic partnerships jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. Senior director strategic partnerships work is largely relationship-driven and strategic rather than tied to a physical facility, making it well suited to remote or hybrid arrangements. About 38% of senior director strategic partnerships openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, with the remote share highest for roles focused on technology ecosystem or channel programs rather than those requiring in-person executive relationship management.
How can I get hired as a senior director strategic partnerships in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is moving into a partnership associate or channel program coordinator role at a California-based technology or healthcare company, then building upward. Large California employers like Salesforce, Adobe, and Kaiser Permanente run rotational business development and go-to-market associate programs that place candidates without formal partnership titles. Coming from adjacent roles in enterprise sales, strategic account management, or vendor relations gives hiring managers a concrete signal, and an MBA from a California institution often accelerates promotion into partnership leadership faster than tenure alone.
