Salesforce Administrator Jobs in California: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a salesforce administrator in California?
California does not require a state-issued license to work as a salesforce administrator, so the hiring path runs through the Salesforce Certified Administrator exam offered directly by Salesforce. Most employers expect at least the core Admin credential, which requires passing a single proctored exam. A background in business administration, information systems, or a related field strengthens your application, and many California employers also value hands-on experience in a Salesforce sandbox or Trailhead Superbadge projects.
How much do salesforce administrators make in California?
Salesforce administrators in California earn a median of about $113,060 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $62,410 for the lowest 10% to over $178,310 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire salesforce administrators in California?
Employers hiring salesforce administrators in California right now include Anthropic, Axos Bank, and Bentek Holding Corporation, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. California's density of enterprise technology, insurance, and healthcare companies means sustained demand across both large corporations and mid-market firms running Salesforce at scale.
Which California cities have the most salesforce administrator jobs?
San Francisco, Milpitas, and Fremont have the most salesforce administrator openings in California. San Francisco leads because Salesforce is headquartered there and its ecosystem of partner consultancies and enterprise customers is concentrated in the Bay Area, while Los Angeles and San Diego generate consistent demand through large media, healthcare, and defense contractors that run Salesforce across their sales and service operations.
Are there remote salesforce administrator jobs in California?
Yes, and more than most fields. Salesforce administration is a desk-based, platform-driven role that translates well to remote work, since nearly all tasks happen inside a browser-based system. About 30% of salesforce administrator openings tied to California are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how widely California tech and enterprise employers have normalized distributed work. Configuration, user support, and reporting work are the functions most commonly performed fully remotely.
How can I get hired as a salesforce administrator in California with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is completing the Salesforce Certified Administrator credential through Trailhead, Salesforce's own free learning platform, and building a portfolio of sandbox projects to show in interviews. Large California employers like Kaiser Permanente and PG&E regularly hire junior admins and Salesforce coordinators who come from adjacent roles such as CRM analyst, sales operations coordinator, or business systems analyst. Salesforce's own Trailhead Academy and regional partner consultancies in the Bay Area and Los Angeles also run associate-level programs that place candidates without prior Salesforce employment.
Where can I find and apply to salesforce administrator jobs in California?
You can find and apply to salesforce administrator jobs in California on Migrate Mate, which lists current California openings updated regularly. Find the roles that fit your experience and location, then apply directly to the employers posting them.
