Tips for Your Salesforce Administrator Job Search
Tailor your resume to each org size
Large enterprise listings emphasize governance, sandbox management, and change sets, while smaller companies want someone who can wear multiple hats. Reframe your bullet points to match the scale of each role before you apply.
List every active Salesforce certification you hold
Recruiters filter by certification names like Salesforce Certified Administrator or Platform App Builder. Spell them out fully in your resume header and skills section so they surface in keyword searches before your application is opened.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists salesforce administrator openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Show declarative solutions over Apex code
Most hiring managers want an admin who solves problems with flows, validation rules, and process automation without custom code. Describe specific business problems you solved declaratively and the measurable outcome it produced.
Prepare a live org walkthrough for interviews
Interviewers frequently ask you to build a flow or configure a page layout on the spot in a developer org. Practice explaining your decisions aloud as you click so the interviewer can follow your reasoning in real time.
Negotiate scope before you negotiate salary
Many salesforce administrator roles quietly include developer or analyst duties. Before the offer stage, ask directly whether the role involves Apex, Lightning Web Components, or data architecture work so you negotiate from an accurate picture of the job.
Salesforce Administrator Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
Which companies are hiring the most salesforce administrators?
The companies hiring the most salesforce administrators right now include Anthropic, IDEXX Laboratories, and Maintainx, with the largest share of openings in California, Texas, and New York, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is concentrated in healthcare systems, financial services firms, and large technology companies that run their entire sales and service operations on the Salesforce platform.
How many salesforce administrator jobs are remote?
About 45% of salesforce administrator openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more remote-accessible roles in the enterprise software space. Configuration work, user support, and report building are the sub-areas most likely to be approved for fully remote arrangements, while roles that require close collaboration with sales leadership or on-site IT teams tend to stay hybrid.
How do you become a salesforce administrator?
Start by completing the free Salesforce Trailhead learning paths designed for new admins, then set up a free Developer Edition org to practice building flows, permission sets, and reports hands-on. Earning the Salesforce Certified Administrator credential validates your skills to employers and is a hard requirement on most job listings. From there, gaining experience in a real org through an internship, a volunteer project for a nonprofit, or an entry-level support role builds the applied context that moves you past the certification stage.
Can you get hired as a salesforce administrator with little experience?
Yes, but you need to substitute demonstrated hands-on work for employment history. Build out a personal developer org with realistic scenarios, such as a fictional sales process with custom objects, flows, and dashboards, and walk interviewers through it. Nonprofits frequently hire junior admins or accept volunteer admins through programs that place Salesforce talent with mission-driven organizations, and those engagements are treated as real experience by hiring managers.
What does the salesforce administrator interview process look like?
Most processes run three to four rounds. An initial recruiter screen confirms your certification status and availability, followed by a hiring manager conversation about your background and the specific Salesforce clouds in use. A technical round typically asks you to solve a business scenario by building a flow or configuring an object in a shared org while explaining your approach. Final rounds often include a stakeholder or cross-functional interview to assess how you gather requirements and communicate with non-technical users.
Where can I find and apply to salesforce administrator jobs?
You can find and apply to salesforce administrator jobs on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings from employers across the United States. Search the listings to find roles that match your certifications, experience level, and preferred location or remote arrangement, then apply directly to each one that fits.
