Entry Level Senior Environmental Consultant Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level senior environmental consultant job?
Employers hiring at the entry level look for a degree in environmental science, engineering, geology, or a related field, along with any hands-on experience from internships, field courses, or campus research projects. Familiarity with environmental regulations, site assessment methods, or tools like GIS gives candidates a clear edge. A portfolio that demonstrates real project work, even from academic or volunteer settings, strengthens an application significantly at this stage.
Which companies hire entry level senior environmental consultants?

Hiring at this level comes from a mix of environmental consulting firms, engineering services companies, and government contractors that build their junior talent pipelines directly from new graduate pools.
Are there remote entry level senior environmental consultant jobs?
Yes, though many roles still require on-site or field work given the nature of environmental assessments. About 0% of entry level senior environmental consultant openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, typically covering report writing, data analysis, and regulatory compliance tasks that can be done off-site while fieldwork stays in person.
Are these new grad senior environmental consultant jobs?
Yes, these listings include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that explicitly welcome candidates with zero to two years of experience. A new grad friendly posting typically accepts internship hours, academic project work, or a relevant portfolio in place of full-time professional experience, making them accessible to candidates stepping into the field for the first time.
