Senior Quality Manager Jobs in West Virginia: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior quality manager in West Virginia?
Most senior quality manager roles in West Virginia require a bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, or a scientific field followed by several years of progressive quality experience. West Virginia does not require a state-issued license for this role, but employers strongly prefer the ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence credential. Candidates targeting chemical, defense, or healthcare employers in West Virginia benefit from additional familiarity with industry-specific standards such as FDA regulations or AS9100.
How much do senior quality managers make in West Virginia?
Senior quality managers in West Virginia earn a median of about $111,760 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $79,500 for the lowest 10% to over $175,070 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior quality managers in West Virginia?
Employers hiring senior quality managers in West Virginia right now include WVU Medicine, Form Energy, and Owens & Minor, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. West Virginia's manufacturing-heavy economy means hiring tends to cluster around chemical processing, plastics, defense, and healthcare systems anchored in the Kanawha Valley and Monongalia County.
Which West Virginia cities have the most senior quality manager jobs?
Morgantown, Weirton, and Huntington are the West Virginia cities with the most senior quality manager openings. Charleston leads because of its concentration of chemical and energy companies in the Kanawha Valley, while Morgantown's openings are driven by West Virginia University Medicine and advanced manufacturing operations, and Huntington benefits from healthcare, industrial, and logistics employers along the Ohio River corridor.
Are there remote senior quality manager jobs in West Virginia?
Yes, but they're rare. Quality management at the senior level typically requires on-site presence to oversee production floors, conduct audits, and lead cross-functional teams, so most West Virginia openings are in-person. About 36% of senior quality manager openings tied to West Virginia are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, and the portions most suited to remote work are quality documentation, supplier audits, and compliance reporting.
How can I get hired as a senior quality manager in West Virginia with little or no experience?
The most realistic path is to enter through a quality technician, quality inspector, or quality engineer role at one of West Virginia's large industrial employers such as chemical manufacturers in the Kanawha Valley or healthcare systems affiliated with WVU Medicine or Cabell Huntington Hospital. Building toward an ASQ Certified Quality Engineer credential while working in an entry role demonstrates technical readiness. From there, lateral moves into quality systems coordination or supplier quality roles create the management exposure needed to reach senior-level consideration.
