Senior Quality Manager Jobs in New York: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior quality manager in New York?
Most senior quality manager roles in New York require a bachelor's degree in engineering, life sciences, or a related field, plus substantial experience in quality systems within a regulated industry. New York does not issue a state license specific to quality management, but employers in pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing strongly favor candidates holding ASQ certifications such as the Certified Quality Manager or Certified Quality Engineer. Experience with FDA-regulated environments and GMP compliance is especially valued in New York's life sciences corridor.
How much do senior quality managers make in New York?
Senior quality managers in New York earn a median of about $130,470 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $81,960 for the lowest 10% to over $206,450 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior quality managers in New York?
Employers hiring senior quality managers in New York right now include Google, Ramboll, and CooperSurgical, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of August 2026. New York's concentration of pharmaceutical manufacturers, food processors, and medical device companies makes it one of the more consistently active hiring markets for quality leadership in the northeastern United States.
Which New York cities have the most senior quality manager jobs?
New York, Hauppauge, and Rochester account for the most senior quality manager openings in New York. New York City dominates due to its density of healthcare systems and corporate headquarters, while Buffalo and Albany draw hiring from large-scale manufacturing operations and life sciences facilities that have long anchored those regional economies.
Are there remote senior quality manager jobs in New York?
Yes, but they're uncommon. Senior quality management work is largely hands-on, requiring physical presence for audits, facility inspections, and production floor oversight, which limits remote availability. About 35% of senior quality manager openings tied to New York are remote or hybrid as of August 2026, and those tend to be in quality systems consulting or supplier quality roles that emphasize documentation and vendor oversight rather than direct site operations.
How can I get hired as a senior quality manager in New York with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is securing a quality engineer or quality analyst role at a mid-size manufacturer or regulated facility, then building toward senior responsibilities over time. Large New York employers in the pharmaceutical and food production sectors, including operations in the Hudson Valley and Western New York, regularly bring on quality technicians and coordinators as a pipeline into management. Pursuing an ASQ Certified Quality Improvement Associate credential and gaining hands-on CAPA and audit experience strengthens a candidate's profile considerably for an eventual move into senior roles.
Where can I find and apply to senior quality manager jobs in New York?
You can find and apply to senior quality manager jobs in New York on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Find roles that match your background and apply directly to the ones that fit.
