Senior Security Consultant Jobs in New Hampshire: Frequently Asked Questions
How do you become a senior security consultant in New Hampshire?
New Hampshire does not require a state-issued license specific to information security consulting, so the path runs through education and industry credentials. Most employers expect a bachelor's degree in cybersecurity, computer science, or information systems paired with certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CompTIA Security+. Candidates targeting defense contractors along the Seacoast or in Nashua should also pursue federal security clearance eligibility, which those employers treat as a practical requirement.
How much do senior security consultants make in New Hampshire?
Senior security consultants in New Hampshire earn a median of about $124,000 a year, based on May 2025 Bureau of Labor Statistics wage data, ranging from around $61,940 for the lowest 10% to over $187,820 for the top 10%. Pay rises with experience, specialty, and employer.
Which companies hire senior security consultants in New Hampshire?
Employers hiring senior security consultants in New Hampshire right now include Target, BAE Systems USA, and Ryder System, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. New Hampshire's defense contracting base and its growing cluster of financial services firms in Nashua and Manchester make it a consistent market for experienced security professionals year-round.
Which New Hampshire cities have the most senior security consultant jobs?
Nashua, Merrimack, and Salem hold the most senior security consultant openings in New Hampshire. Manchester and Nashua anchor the market as the state's two largest cities with the highest concentration of corporate headquarters, defense contractors, and technology employers, while Portsmouth draws hiring from the Seacoast's naval and federal contractor community.
Are there remote senior security consultant jobs in New Hampshire?
Yes, and more than most fields, because security consulting work is heavily analytical, documentation-driven, and deliverable-focused. About 13% of senior security consultant openings tied to New Hampshire are remote or hybrid as of July 2026, reflecting how broadly the profession has adopted distributed work. Roles centered on cloud security, compliance advisory, and risk assessment tend to be the most remote-accessible, while positions requiring on-site penetration testing or classified facility access remain in-person.
How can I get hired as a senior security consultant in New Hampshire with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry path is starting in a security analyst or IT support role at a large New Hampshire employer and building toward consulting responsibilities from there. BAE Systems and Dartmouth Health both hire entry-level security and IT professionals who move into advisory work as they gain experience. Earning a CompTIA Security+ or associate-level cybersecurity certification signals readiness to hiring managers, and contributing to audit or compliance projects in a junior capacity is the most direct bridge to a consulting title.
Where can I find and apply to senior security consultant jobs in New Hampshire?
You can find and apply to senior security consultant jobs in New Hampshire on Migrate Mate, which lists current openings across the state. Search the available roles, find the ones that fit your background and target location, and apply directly to the positions that match.
