Entry Level Senior Statistical Programmer Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get an entry level senior statistical programmer job?
Start by building hands-on experience with SAS, R, or Python through coursework, internship projects, or academic research involving clinical trial data. Employers at this level look for familiarity with CDER or ICH guidelines, clean code samples, and exposure to SDTM or ADaM data structures. A portfolio that demonstrates real analysis work, even from a capstone project, gives entry level candidates a meaningful edge over an unanchored resume.
Which companies hire entry level senior statistical programmers?
Companies hiring entry level senior statistical programmers right now include Exponent, Medpace, and Medical University of South Carolina, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Pharmaceutical and contract research organizations make up a large share of hiring at this level, often bringing on new programmers to support clinical trial submissions and regulatory deliverables.
Are there remote entry level senior statistical programmer jobs?
Yes, though fully remote openings are less common at the entry level than for experienced candidates. About 0% of entry level senior statistical programmer openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting a field where many employers still prefer new programmers to work alongside senior staff in person during early training.
Are these new grad senior statistical programmer jobs?
Yes, the listings on this page include new grad, recent graduate, and junior roles that welcome candidates with little or no professional experience. A posting is new-grad friendly when it explicitly accepts zero to two years of experience, counts internships or co-ops toward the requirement, or invites applicants to submit a portfolio in place of a long work history. Look for those signals in the job description.
Which industries hire the most entry level senior statistical programmers?
Entry Level senior statistical programmer roles concentrate in Consulting & Professional Services, Healthcare & Medical Services, and Biotechnology & Pharmaceuticals, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors generate steady demand at the entry level because they rely on regulated clinical data pipelines, where junior programmers can contribute to real submissions early in their careers.
