Service Coordinator Jobs in Chicago: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a service coordinator job in Chicago?
The strongest path into service coordinator work in Chicago is targeting the city's dominant hiring sectors: healthcare systems anchored in the Medical District, social services nonprofits across the South and West Sides, and property management firms in the Loop and River North. Candidates who stand out typically have direct client-facing or case coordination experience, comfort with documentation software, and familiarity with Chicago's community resources and referral networks.
Which companies hire service coordinators in Chicago?
Companies currently hiring service coordinators in Chicago include UChicago Medicine, Banfield Pet Hospital, and Hines, per current listings on Migrate Mate as of July 2026. Chicago's mix of large hospital systems, affordable housing organizations, and regional nonprofits makes it one of the more varied markets for this role.
Are there remote service coordinator jobs in Chicago?
Yes, though availability depends on the role type: hands-on and community-based positions are almost always on-site, while desk-based coordination in insurance, HR, or administrative services can go remote or hybrid. About 0% of service coordinator openings tied to Chicago are remote or hybrid as of July 2026. Scheduling, benefits coordination, and customer service-oriented roles tend to offer the most location flexibility.
How can I get a service coordinator job in Chicago with little or no experience?
The most realistic entry point is Chicago's large nonprofit and social services sector, where organizations regularly hire coordinators at the entry level and prioritize community ties and communication skills over formal experience. Roles like case aide, program assistant, or front-desk coordinator at agencies in Pilsen, Humboldt Park, or the Near North Side often serve as direct stepping stones, and volunteering with Chicago community organizations can open the same doors.
