Mid Level Social Media Manager Jobs: Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get a mid level social media manager job?
Position yourself around ownership and results, not just execution. Highlight campaigns you led from brief to reporting, platforms you grew independently, and decisions you made without constant manager input. Tailor your portfolio to show measurable impact, such as engagement lifts or audience growth, and frame your application around the specific channels and content types each employer already uses.
Which companies hire mid level social media managers?
Companies hiring mid level social media managers right now include XPO, Keller Williams Realty, and JPMorganChase, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Mid-size consumer brands, agencies managing multiple client accounts, and growth-stage tech companies tend to be the most active at this experience level, since they need professionals who can work independently without building a team from scratch.
Are there remote mid level social media manager jobs?
Yes, remote and hybrid options are common at this level. About 24% of mid level social media manager openings are remote or hybrid as of June 2026, reflecting how content-focused roles translate well to distributed teams. Fully on-site positions tend to appear more often in industries where real-time brand presence or event coverage is a core part of the job.
How do I move up to a mid level social media manager role?
The path from entry level to mid level is built on expanding the scope of what you own. Early in your career, focus on deepening expertise in two or three platforms, then take on projects where you set the content direction rather than just executing it. Demonstrating measurable outcomes, managing relationships with cross-functional partners, and showing you can prioritize without being told what matters signals readiness for mid level responsibility.
Which industries hire the most mid level social media managers?
Mid Level social media manager roles concentrate in Technology & Software, Retail, and Healthcare & Medical Services, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. These sectors invest heavily in social because they rely on consistent audience engagement, product storytelling, or community building, all of which require experienced professionals who can run programs with strategic intent rather than just posting volume.
