INTRODUCTION
SeatGeek believes live events are powerful experiences that unite humans. With our technological savvy and fan-first attitude we’re simplifying and modernizing the ticketing industry. SeatGeek is looking for an Organic Social Media Strategist to own and reimagine our organic social presence from the ground up — across platforms, across moments, and across the culture that makes live entertainment worth showing up for. From hosting an Instagram live at an event to responding to fans on Reddit to developing a TikTok content series for the start of the NFL season, this person will own end-to-end strategy and execution across platforms. The Organic Social Media Strategist will report to the Director of Organic Growth and work cross-functionally with content, creative, PR, fan support, and beyond. The ideal candidate brings deep fluency in social media marketing, a genuine love for sports and live entertainment, and a strong instinct for tying great content to real business impact.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Own and manage SeatGeek's organic social channels end-to-end — including strategy, content creation, scheduling, and publishing across Instagram, TikTok, X, and any emerging platforms worth owning
Develop and execute a cohesive organic social strategy aligned with brand and business goals — defining channel-specific approaches, content pillars, posting cadence, and audience growth tactics that compound over time
Ideate and produce culturally relevant, platform-native content that taps into live events, sports, concerts, and entertainment moments — turning what's happening in culture into content that drives engagement, shares, and brand love
Stay ahead of trends, conversations, and activity in real time — identifying opportunities for timely reactive content, cultural hijacks, and community engagement that keep SeatGeek part of the conversation
Shoot, edit, and produce short-form video content using self-shot footage, UGC, or provided assets — with a strong eye for storytelling, pacing, hooks, and platform-native formats that stop the scroll
Track, analyze, and report on performance metrics — including reach, engagement, follower growth, and share of voice — and use those insights to continuously optimize content strategy and make a clear case for the channel's impact on the business
Own community engagement — responding to comments, DMs, and mentions with a voice that feels human, on-brand, and genuinely fun; turning fans into advocates and everyday interactions into brand moments
Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, partnerships, PR, and creative, and to support campaigns, product launches, and tentpole moments — while keeping the organic social voice consistent and authentic
Build and manage the content calendar — balancing planned campaigns, evergreen content, and real-time opportunities across multiple platforms without dropping the ball on any of them
Serve as the internal expert and evangelist for organic social — bringing platform insights, algorithm changes, and emerging format recommendations to the broader team and helping educate stakeholders on what moves the needle and why
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of experience in organic social media and content strategy, ideally at an e-commerce brand; experience in sports, live events, or ticketing is a strong plus
A scrappy, can-do work ethic. Comfortable operating independently, moving fast, and wearing multiple hats — you don't wait for perfect conditions to ship great content
Strong organization skills, with experience owning and managing a content calendar across multiple platforms and campaigns simultaneously, without letting real-time moments fall through the cracks
Fluent in internet culture — you're always clued into the latest trend, TikTok audio, or viral meme before it peaks, and you know how to translate that into content that feels native, not forced
A genuine passion for live entertainment and sports. You understand the cultural weight of the NBA playoffs as much as you know the setlist for the Ariana Grande tour — and you instinctively know how to show up for those moments in real time
A data-first mindset. You're a strong evangelist for the power of organic social, fluent in platform analytics, and able to clearly report on what's working, what's not, and how the channel connects to business outcomes and revenue
Strong interpersonal and cross-functional communication skills. A natural collaborator who can work fluidly across teams — and who can clearly articulate social strategy to stakeholders at all levels
Experience partnering with creative teams and executing within brand guidelines — while knowing how to push those guardrails in ways that feel fresh and platform-native
Deep familiarity with social search and AI search optimization — you understand how content gets discovered through in-platform search on TikTok and Instagram, and you're proactive about building content strategies that perform in emerging AI discovery surfaces
Hands-on content creation experience, including shooting and editing short-form video (CapCut, Adobe Premiere, or similar); comfortable being a producer, director, and sometimes the talent
Sharp editorial instincts and a distinctive writing voice — you can adapt tone across platforms and write captions that stop the scroll, whether that's a single punchy line or a hook that earns the "more."
A strong creative eye. You can concept and produce content yourself, write a brief that actually inspires a creative team, and give feedback that's specific, actionable, and makes the work better — not just different
* A natural community builder with strong instincts for engaging audiences in comments, knowing when to reply, amplify, or escalate, and turning everyday interactions into brand moments

Flexible work environment, allowing you to work as many days a week in the office as you’d like or 100% remotely

Tips for Your Social Media Job Search
Tailor your resume for each platform
Hiring managers scan for platform-specific fluency, so call out the exact channels you've managed, short-form video, community forums, paid amplification, rather than listing 'social media' as a single skill. Match the language in each job posting.
Build a portfolio before you apply
Attach a link to a public portfolio showing content you've created, campaigns you've run, and results you drove. Screenshots of organic growth, engagement lifts, or follower milestones tell interviewers far more than a job description bullet ever could.
Filter openings by specialization not just title
Titles vary wildly across companies, the same role gets called social media coordinator, digital content specialist, or community manager. Search by the skills you have, like short-form video or paid social, to catch every relevant opening.
Apply early to roles that fit
Migrate Mate lists social media openings from across the United States in one place, so you can find roles that match and apply directly to each listing.
Prepare for a content brief exercise
Most social media interviews include a take-home or live exercise where you draft posts or a short campaign for the brand. Research the company's current tone, audience, and platform mix beforehand so your output fits their voice, not a generic one.
Negotiate using content performance data
When it comes to offers, anchor your ask to measurable outcomes you've delivered, growth rates, reach, engagement rate improvements. Concrete performance data gives you a stronger position than years of experience alone.

Which companies are hiring the most social medias?
The companies hiring the most social medias right now include Fresenius Medical Care, Nexstar Media Group, and State Farm, with the largest share of openings in California, New York, and Texas, based on current listings on Migrate Mate as of June 2026. Demand is especially active in retail, media, and consumer tech brands that rely on organic content to drive audience growth.
How many social media jobs are remote?
About 25% of social media openings are fully remote or hybrid as of June 2026, making it one of the more flexible roles in marketing. Content strategy, copywriting, and analytics-focused positions tend to be the most remote-friendly, while community management and influencer relations roles more often require some on-site collaboration.
How do you become a social media?
Start by building hands-on experience running accounts in a niche you know well, even a personal project or volunteer work counts. Develop platform-specific skills in content creation, scheduling tools, and analytics. Build a portfolio documenting results, then apply to entry-level coordinator or specialist roles. Certifications from major platforms can strengthen your application early in your career.
Can you get hired in social media with little or no experience?
Yes, many social media coordinator roles are explicitly entry-level and prioritize a strong portfolio over years on a resume. Employers want to see that you understand platform algorithms, can write in a brand voice, and know how to read engagement data. Running your own accounts, contributing to a school publication, or managing social for a local nonprofit all count as real experience.
What does the social media interview process look like?
Most social media interview processes run two to four rounds. The first is typically a recruiter screen covering your background and platform experience. A hiring manager interview follows, focused on past campaigns and how you measure success. Expect at least one practical exercise, a content brief, a mock post, or a channel audit, before a final conversation with the broader marketing team.
